No, all of them look alike reasoning shouldnt be used as grounds for taking away a person's liberty but as I was saying before, when a group of ppl are looked at as less than human, then society <span style="font-weight: bold">as a whole </span>doesnt bat an eyelash.

This is why I am against the death penalty....mistaken identity, fabricated evidence, or lack of DNA results means innocent ppl are not only sent to jail but are put to death.

I am curious to see if others think those 2 men look alike because, I hate to admit it, but I can see a bit of similarity with these two. Could just be me. But that doesnt negate anything I have said

I give my man props for having far more grace in his heart than I could muster in the same situation

Remember that he was tried twice for the crime and each time she identified him as her attacker.

So, to most ppl they can say they dont look alike but obviously to her they did. If you dont move around a particular group of ppl on a regular basis ppl see them as all looking alike. (That goes for other races as well.)

Yes,this was a third black man,rude guede originally from the ivory coast,he pleaded guilty to the murder.

I think in the end Amanda knox will be found not guilty,sell her story to the newspapers,write a best selling book,and come out of it a multi-millionaire.

I see a bit of resemblance thru the eyes and nose bridge area but other than that they dont look alike for me. Maybe the similarities for someone else is storng enough to say they do look a like hence the problem. I dont know.....

Tropicana, this story that you post here is note exactly correct, and I am saying this only because I saw the 60 Minutes piece where both Cotton and his accuser were interviewed.

Cotton admitted to the interviewer that his ALIBI DID NOT MATCH up to the info he gave the police, something about him mixing up his whereabouts [[different weekends info]...he mentioned nothing about his families agreeing with his story, because he inadvertently had already given the police the WRONG INFO.

You said a lot of things here, but, technically it was Cotton who solved the case...


Cotton said that the real assailant/rapist Bobby Poole, was jailed in the same prison where he was, for rape and sentenced like him [Cotton] to life...Cotton said that the first moment he saw Poole he knew that Poole did the crime for which he was now incarcerated. (He saw the close resemblance between himself and Poole)

He asked Poole if he did the crime, and he denied it....to make it more interesting, the people who worked in the jail started calling Cotton, Poole.... and Poole, Cotton...in other words they confused their identities, they looked so much alike...


Mek a long torie shaawt...other prisoners told Cotton that Poole confessed to them [sang in jail as convicts always do] that he POOLE was the real rapist, and Cotton took this information to his lawyer...take it from there...

I personally was thinking that the woman id cotton wrongly because she was raped in the dark, and she was traumatised and confused, to the extent that when she saw Poole in court, she still insisted that it was Cotton, despite the information that Poole confessed...well yuh know bout the DNA.


What this case has done is set a precedence in her state for the way in which the identification parade is conducted among other things.

I felt very strongly about this case, including the reverberating stats that show where black men are sent to prison and even the chair for crimes they didn't commit, based on false accusations of WHITE PEOPLE...false witnesses...and found it hard to even forgive this woman...but if Cotton forgave her, then so can I.

The shystem stinks, and gave this woman a cause to perjure herself; however I don't think this case supports your topic that she is a dangerous white woman...afterall she was the victim of a heinous crime...RAPE.

Thank you for fillig in the blanks Britisha. No I didn't see the 60 minutes feature. I didn't even realize that it was on 60 minutes. I did not become familiar with the case until today. I bought People magazine for the first or perhaps the second time in my life and the story was in there. The story focused mostly on the forgiveness angle. Not even Cotton's family can understand how he could forgive her but he did. He is now friends with his accuser. There is a photo in the current issue of People showing the 2 families together.

Wow, so even when they brought Poole out after all these years she thought it was the same guy. Looking at the photos they don't look at all alike to me. One guy has a thin face and very angular, long features the other has a shorter rounder face.

From what you're saying Britisha, it looks like the media is not reporting the story consistently. Some say that Cotton had an iron clad alibi but the 60 Minutes coverage is providing additional information.
