mi nuh 100% sure, but Westminister cresent (a think) suppose to be off HWT Rd.
Yuh leave the HWT terminus, going north.. The plazas on yuh right (pavillion, twins), a turn off to that area suppose to be on u left. mi may off still, but thats where come to mind.

You are right the police operation was idiotic. One man they could have waited him out. Especially since he warned them that he had enough bullets for them.

Nonetheless this is a real shootout and at least it points out the stark contrast of other so-called shootouts where the police scored all the hits for no losses.

Man killed at Luciano's house was wanted


Andrew Senior, the notorious criminal killed yesterday following a two-hour stand-off with police at a house belonging to reggae singer Luciano, had eluded the police for months before they finally caught up with him.

Senior, believed to be about 30 years old and also known as 'Conqueror', was wanted for between eight and 10 murders, the most recent being that of 65-year-old Gloria McLean in the Grants Pen, Shortwood Road area, several months ago. Police sources also said Senior is believed to have also slashed another woman's throat in recent times.


Targeted by police

For months he managed to elude the police both in the Corporate Area and in rural Jamaica. &quot;Police have had several dragnets to capture him, including areas in St Elizabeth where he relocates to from time to time to escape the police,&quot; revealed Assistant Commissioner of Police Leon Rose, who arrived at the scene of yesterday's incident about an hour after police had killed the Senior.

Yesterday, a police team of about eight officers descended on the premises at 21 Westminster Crescent about 4:45 a.m. in search of Senior. The house is owned by Luciano and doubles as a recording studio. According to ACP Rose, the house was one of several that were targeted by police. &quot;The police from St Andrew North, acting on information and intelligence, carried out a series of operations at some targeted premises in the Westminster Crescent area,&quot; ACP Rose said.

Three policemen were shot in the operation. Two of them were reportedly among the team that first descended on the house. Senior, armed with a high-powered weapon and enough ammunition to start a small war, opened fire at the security forces, hitting two of its members. One was shot in the mouth, the bullet exiting through his neck, sources said. The other was shot in the groin.


Terrifying residents

Reinforcements were called in and when they arrived, a member of that team was shot in the leg. A soldier was also grazed by one of the gunman's bullets. Policemen at the scene said Senior, who is believed to be from Central Village, vowed that if he was going to die he was going to take several of them with him, boasting to them that he had enough bullets to do so.

Sources said the weapon seized, a 9mm, was so heavily used the housing and the magazine suffered damage. A number of spent shells were also recovered from the scene.

For about two hours the sound of gunfire echoed through the early morning air, terrifying residents living in the normally quiet community off Red Hills Road. &quot;It was like Gaza,&quot; one policewoman was overheard telling a colleague. &quot;The man fire some shot.&quot;

There were reports that the gunman used children at the house as shields as he kept the police at bay. The police also said that he barricaded himself in and fired constantly at them.

Luciano, who had arrived on the scene after the shooting incident, was taken into custody by the police. Yesterday evening, Luciano and his lawyer were taken back to the house where the police were conducting a search.

Crime chief for the St Andrew Central Division, Superintendent McArthur Sutherland, told THE STAR that <span style="font-weight: bold">investigations were being carried out to determine if the singer had prior knowledge that Senior was wanted.</span> Based on these investigations, whether the deejay will face charges of harbouring a fugitive will be determined.

Jamaican police wait.. their contempt for life and maschismo cause the injury of their own.. This is a demonstrations of the crass lack of management... But in this case all they had to do was to tun off the electric and play Celion Deion music for an hour and the man woulda commit suicide...
