That is true, the Jamaicans who call for the torture of other Jamaicans have never been tortured, never seen anyone been tortured up close and personal. Speaking as someone who has been tortured for three hours once, was abducted shot and held for over six hours, almost bleeding to death, have seen others been tortured, I know it is not a pretty sight.
Worse if you are tortured for reasons that you are not guilty of.

Generally the board members who call for such torture list their professions as Doctor, lawyers and teachers, folks who you think would know better. They are generally the ones who place themselves smack dab in the middle of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, the Civil Right Movement, the Black Power Movement and every struggle that blacks went through in the Western Hemisphere. They can recount each humiliating torture, punishment and privation that Blacks had to endure in the history of man-unkind. It is therefore, somewhat surprising that they are in the forefront of the movement to torture other blacks, other Jamaicans, based purely on rumour, gossip and suspicion.

Thanks britisha,but you know to defend the rights of homosexuals on this board in the minds of <span style="font-weight: bold">some</span> people mean you are either gay,or if you are married then you must be gay and in the closet,or gay in the closet and on the down low.....and wear a girdle ..Lol !

I know my sexuality has been attacked numerous times on the board for my stance,but as you say I wont compromise my approach to these discussions,I really dont care what <span style="font-weight: bold">they</span>think,..I am very contented about my sexuality,I am glad I was born straight,but IF I was gay I would be the first to shout it from the rooftops on this board,what the hell could they actually do about it.

This topic has indeed been hashed and rehashed in numerous forms on the board,and it`s always going to come to the same conclusion,....no one is actually going to change anyone`s mind about anything,but when so-called adults start acting like a pack of uncivilised cave ugs because of other people`s sexual orientation you know some jamaicans hasnt mentally progressed much even with travel.

Yes, I'll make the odd crass comment or joke about 'battism', but I really don't business if a man wants to 'do it' with a next man. It's up to them.

(Is this a bit like the person who makes joke about blacks but swears he isn't racist - he's only joking? )

You are absolutely right,...but you see,<span style="font-weight: bold">some</span> of these so-called civil rights,black panther, conscious,strong black women/men,folks are only internet warriors,big hypocrites,big on talk,it`s all for show,to demonstrate how much more "conscious" they are than the next black person......with their talk of "sellouts" and "house N "...they fail to see that they are simply products of the slavery mentality they condemn.

They put up all kinds of "conscious" avatars in their signatures,and pay lip service to every topic on the subjects,but away from the computer screens they dont practise what they preach,they go back to their little lives,and wallow in the futility of their lack of power.....it`s simply all talk,that is why I laugh at them sometimes.

Neither do I,..I would much prefer discuss the rampant crime and corruption in jamaica,the political chicanery and skulduggery and the murder rate that is frightening thousands of expats from returning to jamaica with much needed revenue.

People want to go back to their homeland but is afraid,if the bun fyah crew could show as much passion about these issues as they do on gays then I reckon the jamaica gov would have to take notice.

Derek you are entitle to your opinions and views like everybody else. Never apologise for your views. We live in a democratic society and so on these boards people will always disagree with one another on various subjects. I don't condone the stoning/beating of homosexuals because it is barbaric. On the same note I don't agree with homosexuality either but do respect their right to do their thing in their private lives - I have always maintained that stance and will never change.

The problem homosexuals will have with me is when they try to bring that stuff to me by way of an argument or debate to CONVINCE me rather than just state their reason for being an homosexual. After all, I have no interest in CONVINCING them to change and become straight. I rather they come out of the closet and be honest and true themselves and anybody else close to them they have been deceiving and hurting.

...I choose not to say much on this topic because I'm not Jamaican, even though mi liv a Yaad, but I have often wondered WHY some Jamaicans bun fiyah so much pon homosexuality when murder, rape & child molestation is running rampant on the island. I agree with you 100% Neutral!

</div></div> Funny thing is that I have not seen any post for the torture, repression, persucution of any person, group or organizations, by any doctor on these boards by any <span style="font-weight: bold">Doctor</span>, I and I have been here from the inception.
I mean I was just missing for a few hours, and i have to go and read these whole BB to find these recent events.
Who are those or that Doctor? Do you mind saving me a little time in my search?

I won't pretend to know anything about what you experienced. The most tortuous thing I ever experienced was splits training. It was definitely tortuous but I chose it. Sorry to hear your path brought you into those situations.

I do have empathy with you, a friend of mine was faced with similar and she was brutally taken from us. her loss has me in a very very dark place sometimes. Sometimes I wonder if that is not a mercy in a way considering what she was put through.

So while there are such real evil things going on about, and sometimes whole communities might be culpable, I could really care not a whit over who is homo or all this stupid boom bye bye posturing. It's meaningless, even pavlovian. Gays are not ruining our societies, people need to stop mapping their personal likes/dislikes on deities, and there are other deeper, real evils that really are ruining our families and societies. I think homosexuality as an issue should fall at the bottom of the list of what should get people upset. Fortunately this seems to be the trend as people and their cultures evolve.
