As I said before, our anger is largely misplaced. My anger is not at "Chevah" regardless of his motivations. Would we have felt better about his documentary if he had mentioned Trinidad's high homicidal rate, and societal inequalities in Barbados?

? Can outrage be just wat it is, an emotional and immediate reaction at a perceived slight directed at something r someone , loved , unconditionally? it don't haffi be dat we want equality of bashing , but we do have a valid right to be human / nationalistic r is it patriotism?

why couldn't you see the option of since the majority is excused it would be reasonable for that treatment to be issued to all parties?

A faulty analogy, but no surprise here. If I insist that those involved be similarly punished, and if they are then similarly punished, I may feel better, but how does that diminish my culpability? You are off-base.

We do nothing to advance Jamaica's standing if our best argument is that the ills of other Caribbean islands be similarly highlighted.

Well, then you will have a long miserable existence. There are lots of Chevahs, and there will always be Chevahs. What we can hope for is that sometime in the future when Jamaica gets bad press, we can take some comfort in knowing that the report is false and driven by malice. Unfortunately, we have difficulty saying that is the case right now.

Speaking of Naipaul (another Trini): he once said that the future of the West Indies is Jamaica and Haiti. I'm not a fan of his, and not because he doesn't write favourably about the WI, but that's neither here nor there.
