It is a bad idea for some of the reason you mention but I cannot see greed and classism in the sale as announced.

As I have said before I think moving the JDF it is a bad idea.
Here is why:

UP Park act as and Mobile Reserve installations act as a buffer the between rival Garrisons in East and the West. It also contain and bottle up the fighting forces of the East and West within their own geographical area.

There is already a horrendous traffic problem in that location, building more housing units and/or factories would just add to the nightmare.

Given the history of public and private construction in Jamaica, there is no way that an undertaking of this magnitude is going to be accomplished without bloodshed, if not corruption and bloodshed.

The Soldiers and not worth anything and building them a new facility is a waste of time and money. Better move them all to Moneague and/or collapse the JDF into the Police Force.

But I have to save the biggest <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">LOL</span> for the <span style="font-family: 'Arial Black'">PNP Oppositon</span>.

Humano, I noticed your preference for dealing with "civil unrest" instead of an "insurrection". I can well understand why, because you have made your reasons clear... By so doing, you are attempting to diminish the importance of the military, and would love to see it re-located.. `What you are overlooking or fail to see, is that an <span style="font-weight: bold">insurrection</span> can be as or more devastating to a country than an actual invasion. It can even be more damaging if not quelled, managed and controlled quickly. I will ensure you, that in such circumstances, the JDF would never be called in as <span style="font-weight: bold">a last resort</span> and makes their location in Kingston, even the more neccessary...
