How long will the government be able to maintain the show of strength?
And where do they have to take these officers from/don't they have to understaffed other areas?
these men did not come from thin air.
the critical levels of under-staffing that the force chronically experience, what else will be neglected?
Is it worth the sacrifice.
when the criminals know that all they have to do is to lat low at some remote safe areas until after the strategy wears off. the shed men can't work 24x7 for 365 days.
all they have to do is to switch to drug export, in the mean time. since the neglect may be there.

Doc, as you know, there is no good time to start something like this. Someone scoffed at the 300 behind the desk officers being added but in some areas even 50 or 100 in plain view will make a difference, even on a rotation basis... every mickle makes a MUCKLE!...I dont think that the govt expect that this small effort will take care of crime in Jamaica but what it does, is to send a message, telling the criminals that the govt. representing the people will be comming after them and it's about time.
This is long overdue and we can only hope that this is the initial stage of a serious attack on "crime in Jamaica. I am pleasntly surprised that someone had the "balls" to decide on this move, a move that may seem like a "pappyshow" to some, but the symbolism is what is most important at this time...
