the remittances contribute more to the GDP than does tourism at this point...tourism going poof would be just like banana going poof, bauxite going poof n sugar going poof...not having been jamaican owned in ther first place, the contributions were dependent of wat those who owned it chose to share...

remmember that it was Joahua's hiking of bauxite payment up to 25cents that led to that baklash against the country's national interest

i have never been one to discuss my private bizniz on here...my entry into this was to point out the irony of ur posting ...i.e. asking for a plan wid di bit thrown in as a 'higher monkey climb' e.g.

Nylah don't buy into the BS....No one asked anyone in the Disapora to give up a dang thing.....nor negated their contributions....My question was that SOME people who rag on Tourism alll of the time from their confortbale places in other countries (and ain't nobody said anything about giving their jobs up yada yada....I asked THAT person who wants Jamaica rid of tourism to tell me what plan B would be>>> simple question. I think (and could be wrong) but there was some land deal with the GOJ when PJ was in power for "un-cultivatable" crown/queen land between treasure beach and St Bess.

plus the rumored land butch was gifted/sold/given for fractions of pennies of the real worth
