u know , if u read the statement with any attempt to understand it in context and with regards to who he is referring, u would see that he means the much touted retirement tourism that is the happening thing in Jamaica..

for u to try and imply that a baby of a few months would remember that it was born aboard ,even though it was not reared r socialised there, is a bit of a reach ...

but it is on par with the political tribalism wich we decry on this board in many a discussion, yet, on the other hand, continue to hold fast to in life and in discussions...ironic isn't it

Ther is a difference between a <span style="font-weight: bold">God complex </span> and a <span style="font-weight: bold">messenger of god </span> complex.
Michael had the messenger complex. Mr Seaga had the other.
As a matter of fact that is what is the divide in the Jamaican social milieu..
One set believe that they are genetically imbued to be superior,while the other group refuse to accept it.

all this talk about Jamaican being simpletons, is also a result of that belief.
that they are incapable of functioning on the basis of doing what they deemed their best interest.
the only reason why Jamaican and the majority of people display the simpleton decision making process, is the limit of the information they are restricted to.

I see the problem with certain posters on this board. One may read, but not necessarily read with understanding. I suppose that quote, outside of its context, is one more weapon in the war again the man comrades love to hate.

seaga does deserve some credit for helping to shape modern jamaican history...but just like he can get credit for the good he has to take some of the blame for the bad...

his comment about 'simpletons' is not different from how other politicians think, they are just careful enough to not let it be known overtly that that's the way they feel...

his 'afrocentric/eurocentric' remarks are disingenuous at best when he was a part of the system (not saying him personally as i have no clue his personal thoughts on this) which taught that &quot;afrocentric&quot; is inherently inferior...

The Comrade PNP must congratulate itself on the quality of its propaganda.

Here is a man that only served two years as leader of a Government in Jamaica. Has been out of representational politics for nearly five years yet almost every month there is an article(s) in the public domain that paint him as one of the greatest monster that every lived in Jamaica.

CIAga, CeeAga, SeeAge, BlindAga has blood on his hands. Was a the architect of tribalism, yet zero proof has been offered.
Yet his protagonist Micheal Menlie is seen as the saviour inside and outside of Jamaica. The Man who ran Jamaica for three terms who preached racial, class and political division even on his exit from politics.

Micheal Menlie the man who truly by his own, oblique-admission have blood on his hands is valued above Eddie Seaga the man who fixed a broken economy and whose Government oversaw the last positive growth of Jamaica's Economy.

Again Comrade propaganda is of superior and lasting quality.

Maybe it's because Jamaica will be introducing similar programs as Michael Manley did in the 70's, before it get out of this IMF program.
I wonder how they will be labeled when the time come to implement them.
different names, but same programs.
they are talking about home guard already.
They want to label it and differentiate it, but it will be the same home guard.
Then they will be doing the one that they lean on broom and get paid for doing so.
i forget what it was called back then.
