Here, I know folk who've done the illegal bit, schooled themselves, and then applied from <span style="font-style: italic">within</span> Canada to be Permanent residents.

I believe there's a fast track system for them and so it works out... even though they had to pay for the schooling themselves, pay more than the average student, and all the while earning less than the average Canadian because they were working under the table... </div></div>
This is true...in the above mentioned case though I notice she was allowed to stay here to complete the education she started. My question is if she were a "lesser" immigrant, someone not so engaged, would she be deported immdiately, and if the answer is yes, is this not a flaw or at the very least a double standard?
