1. You at <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">no time</span></span> use it back. <span style="font-style: italic">(this is YOUR opportunity to make some $$$$$$$, a promotion, or at very least get some extra vacation days)</span>
2. Unless you work for a patty shop, that kind of behaviour should be cover in the company's code of ethics, and if so, then his/her azzz should be grass.

Get witnesses and simply report it. That is what you call an "hostile working environment"

I use teh F word with amazing frequency.. <span style="color: #FF0000">but never at a person.. ie f*** *FF. </span> As an adjective to describe a situation, to describe equipment, to describe a boat to tell some one to shut up.. It is used at me in similar circumstances...

I have used it infromt of fortune 500 CEO, countrys presidents, it is an effective word when used in context...

For instance at a meeting with an energy company immidately after the Macondo well disaster, when we never had the full report...There was a discussion and I mean literally every one used the F word....

in fact just now as I type this the following conversation took place....

The one guy said staring at his screen

"Well f*** me!"

I said "Throw some S**** in it"

the other response was

."yeah throw some s*** in it, they dont f****ing know"..

An hour before we were in a very dangerous situation.....

I said to a guy who jokingly made a comment about what I did as he tried to pass the blame.. (note he worked for the company I contractor for)..

"Either tell me whats wrong with my s**** or shut the F*** up.. Dont F*** with my hustle..."

<span style="color: #FF0000">I might be fired in the morning!</span>

This is coincidence.. I guy just came in and described the F scene out "The Wire"

Or is a group of people in a discussion and he swears in conversation?

No matter what (apologies, etc), document the incident.

Send an email even if is under the guise of a follow up, "<span style="font-style: italic">Thanking"</span> them for their attention to this <span style="font-weight: bold">"hostile and stressfull</span>" incident.

So these people hired me to bring about Change they can Believe In (to borrow a phrase) which entails revamping their entire processes top to bottom. Long story short, I made some changes to a documents primarily used by Developers. We hadd a TEAM meeting to peer review the changes on Thursday. We all agreed on the changes and that the standards I am trying to implement is what we will be using going forward.

This turd I work with who has been on my case since I got here, decides he was going to go on the shared drive where I store the document to re-do parts of it (that suits HIM). I didn’t have to ask who made the changes because he has been doing that a lot with other documentation and when I bring it up in meetings he gets all defensive.

Now this morning I confronted him and asked why is it he insists on going behind my backand un do the work I have been doing. I proceeded to make my pitch about the proper protocol of consulting the team before changes are made..when he Got up out of his chair in my face saying:

<span style="font-size: 14pt">WELL I AM A PART OF THIS F**** TEAM TOO!</span>

Holy Salt mackerel!…Saltfish and Bammy! ! I stepped back and I could hear a few gasp from people in their cubes. I said to him "OK – let me deal with you from a different angle" and left.

Mi soon come back again …. (g<span style="font-style: italic">aan dash lickle cole wata pan mi face..mi suddenly a get hat flash</span>!)

I wouldn't go to that person's level and swear back at him or her....jobs are too hard to come by these days, and some co.'s will fire you both for unprofessional behaviour.

Definitely it should be documented....and witnesses listed.

I however would respond to make sure that he/she realises that I am aware of the gravity of the encounter...and prolly would say "Don't you EVER, do you hear me? EVER speak to me like that again !!!!

So I called both bosses in the conference room and gave them a history of this problem “child” and his working relationship with me. This should be no news to my boss because my other co-worker (who is male) told her about him coming to him asking him “Why di HELL did you decline my meeting?” when he declined a meeting he set up with him.

This is how him behave pan a regula.

Dem lissen to mi and offer that they will speak to him. That’s it. Mi know dem people roun here stay dowe (di govament) Dem pretty much ago tell im doan do it again an dat a wey dem ago lef it.

But anyday im eva talk to mi like dat again, the entire leadership in dis department gwine hear fram mi.

Mi gwine to craft of an email now to send to him directly and capy who mi fi capy.

Oh an as for witnesses.. Plenty a dem dey bout ..all mi havi do is go to everybody ina fi im cubicle area. They all heard it.

...dass aawrite, as long as it is documented dat he has these outbursts...for wan day im might juss cumeen and shoot hup di place, and then it will be on record that he has a short fuse.

whey mi deh, dem talk like dat all di while, [whole heap a mental case dehbout] until we decided "no mas". ..now these incidences can go all the way up the HR chain, with written apologies and even warnings..."zero tolerance now"...

Actually in my email I sent I mentioned I recommend that they be read only. They need to up the chains to a Change control board for approval. Once that is finalized I plan to do just that.

I actually thought I was working with professionals so the thought never came to mind initially

He came by my desk a few minutes ago to apologize. Maybe its the mood I am in right now but I didn't even look his way
