No,if you bring up your kids to show respect from a very early age there is no reason why you should have to resort to beating.

Not necessarily true. Some kids can do with a stern talking to....some kids you have to give them a good beating..and some kids should have never been conceived...

No child should be disciplined with beatings.

A parent who has to resort to beating a child is a parent who has run out of ways to demonstrate reasonableness, boundaries, and human dignity.

I have spanked mine. As they have gotten older it's more about taking away priveleges etc.
