Our language is not static, new words and expressions come in every year. Tho at least it still looks like what FRENCH is supposed to look like. You all take pride in dissing a nation you don't even know.

however, language being what it is, which is fluid and subject to influences, i'd say quebec french must have evolved from the original 17th century french, and especially in these past few years of mass communications.

the best case of Gallic San Froid I know was during the last financial cris an aid busted in on Sarkosy who was sleep.. announcing that the US was about to go bankrupt.. Sarkosy is rupted to have told him "We have been bankrupt for the past thirty years. Next time get me when there is a real crisis"..

But then there are those who would say Sarkosy is not French because he had no connection to pre 1940's France!

Of course it did change, I'm just saying our French is closer to what French should be than theirs.
And yeah, I'm not so excited about English speakers in my Province. I'm all for protecting my language. Especially since May 2nd when English Canadians elected the worst (how did you guys spell it earlier, "eediat"?) ever as our Prime Minister.

1- Why would France fix US's economical problems?

my personal opinion - language "is". to say that language "should be",would imply that it is not meeting the needs of its speakers. France French works for the people of that country, Quebec French for Quebeckers, Belgian French pour les Belges, etc.

i tend to think of Quebec as that petit village d'Armorique where Asterix, Obelix and the other Gaulois resisted the Roman occupation. Quebec culture seems pretty resilient to me.

forgive my ignorance.. But was not "French" a much more fragmented series of languages prior to Quebec being exchanged for Martique and Guardelope by the French...

I mean there were regional languages (not dialects) in Britanny, Languedoc, Basque region and Alesece Lorraine... As well as a language close to Catalan in the South East . French to my understanding was formalised durign the Napoleonic era with a by word to these now nearforgotten languages... If ur claim is that ur French is that of the court...

Please spell it right. Sang Froid. Not that hard. Every single time you say it you make it worse. Are you doin gthis on purpose? Sang Froid is a quality. It means not being scared. Please try another word to describe us french people. 'Cause Sang-Froid makes us proud.

yep there were no first nations people there!!!!!

Actually it was probably Norwegian for a couple centuary....

First, Quebec was only french until the 18th Century.

And what I mean is that English Canadians elected Stephen Harper's conservative party. Therefore I cannot like them anymore. No more money for schools, no more for health care, but oh yes will we spend billions of dollars for war planes. English Canadians want Canada to be a copy-pasta of USA. So no, I do not like english Canadians in my country. They complain about our French laws and complain about being served in French in public places (while we, French people, just accept it and reply in English when the cashier is English). I don't hate English Canadians. I just dislike when they want us to be like them.

Yes I've been there many times. I saw tons of French people speaking English, but no English people speaking French, which is ridiculous.
