A good and a fair question given my low opinion of all presidents and most candidates this century and last.

IMO you should support any candidate who is moral or who comes close to your view of morality.
It is more principled to support and vote for someone you really want and not get them than it is to vote for someone you don't really want and wind up with that person.

I do not support any lesser-of two-evils candidates.

I often vote for the Green Party or Ralph Nader but never for someone like Obama who is all image and no substance. For that matter I never vote for anyone from the Democrat or Republican parties because I KNOW that each of those has been hand picked by their parties to never change a thing.

Obama should be a classic case in point of this very thing and all his supporters should be calling for his political head but he gets a pass because he's black, speaks well and isn't George Bush.

I advise doing what Noam Chomsky advises. Participate in your LOCAL elections and boycott the national elections because the two parties will never give you/ nominate a moral person for whom to vote. Moral people are not members of the Republican or Democrat parties because as members of Congress or as President of the United States you HAVE to do a great many immoral and criminal things .

I know this will make a lot of people kiss their teeth here but Obama is no better than Bush and electing McCain and Palin would not have produced anything very different from what we are experiencing now.

I am not eligible to vote in the US but i think people interested in voting would be looking for something more constructive that boycott the national election.
Already nearly 50% of the population opt out and where has that gotten you? Instead of trying to erode support for a particular candidate and participation int he election you should be encouraging more people vote for the candidate of your choice.

I have better things to do with MY time than vote in useless elections.

No, I have never voted for any member of the Democrat or Republican parties
i almost always do vote but for other parties and candidates.

No one for whom I have voted has ever been elected but I am never surprised since I know that stupidity will always win out in any election in which the depth of discussion and debate runs to people running around wearing funny hats and idiotic bumper stickers as a means of expressing democratic philosophy.

People voted in Obama because of his skin color for Pete's sake.

What chance does a serious candidate have with such a moronic electorate.

I can see by your last question that you either have never read how the candidates for whom we are allowed to vote are nominated and what their primary qualification must be because you would then know that a good, moral candidate cannot be nominated.

I'll repeat myself:

EVERY candidate put up by either of the two parties is vetted to make sure they will not challenge nor change the status quo. It's a rigged election every time.

A very small handful of people at the top of each party approves each nominee.

Not the people. We only get to approve their choices them or disapprove of it by not voting.
IMO voting for the lesser of two evils which is what most people do , is really having no choice at all.

This is how people have voted at least since after WWII and where has that kind of moronic thinking gotten us?

We're damned if we do, we're damned if we don't.

Again, to repeat what I've posted several times before, Malcolm X when asked for his preference in the 1964 election between liberal Lyndon Johnson and arch-conservative Barry Goldwater said that the choice for black people was akin to the residents of a henhouse having the choice of a fox or a wolf to run the henhouse.

That analogy is still operative today some 50 years later.

Some entire populations never learn a damned thing.

Read it twice just now.
It was not a speech to get black people to vote but a way of explaining the futility of doing so.

The closest he came to getting black people to vote was this excerpt:
