I don't have any expertise. Neither do you. My belief is based on looking into the subject and 'friends' with intelligence connections.

Russians haven't been silent at all. They just haven't had much of a presence on the information channels you adhere to.

i'm talking about landing humans on the moon & returning them safely to earth;

i'm still not convinced it has been done...
if it was so easy 40 years ago it should be a breeze now...
why do they need another 20 years to be able to do it?...

i don't know if it speaks for itself...
the fact is that the american & soviet space programs were started mainly with german former nazi scientists...
both countries knew they were playing a dirty game & both had dirt on each other...so they basically agreed to keep quiet regarding the dirtiest aspects (see Laika post above)...
this is a plausible theory

China become the supplier of the world as a result of the us attempt to sway them away from the russian sphere of influence.
The korean war,vietnam angola,guiana and many more was really between usa and russia.
They were that bad. So they would never keep such a secret against each other.
It would be utter illogical to believe that.

why did the americans not make public what happened to the russian dog?
the nazis were enemies to both america & russia during WW2 so the space program--mainly nazi scientists---was secretive from the start;

countries cooperate whenever it is in their best interest to do so...
the americans & soviets cooperated during WW2 due to common interests, even though they were ideologically sworn enemies;
why could that never happen again?

A speculation is a probabillity.
A theory is a statement of principle base on a mesurable event.
The term theory is commonly misused to explain what is really probabillity.

You have a lot to learn.

This period of coooeration is only since the late 80s.
Before leaders would be deposed by either the usa or russia on the basis of replacing them with more favourable ones.
It was never about ideology but rather sphere of influence.

america & russia have gone to bed with each other throughout their supposed enmity whenever it benefitted them to do so

it's possible humans may have gone to the moon, but the images we have seen of this may not be what really went down
