Who saw the show last night? I had knowledge from her father this was going to happen because it was filmed back in August. Now the LIVE shows come up when all of us can now vote for her.

Mutty, I saw the show last night and I predicted that Simon was going to pick your friends daughter over the 14yr old. When he picked the 14yr old I was in complete and total shock
then when he said that he made a mistake I kniew in my heart who he was speaking of!

I was soooooo happy that he chose to give Melanie the opportunity that she so surely deserves!

outstanding!!!! Awesome voice, incredible composure and poise... no gimmicks, no props, no dancers, no ridiculous costumes -- she alone by herself and had<span style="font-style: italic"> total </span>command of that stage

it's no contest..... she is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above all other contestants in talent and presentation........ go Melanie!!!!

I don't know if it was emotions or nerves..but she got off key in the middle part of her performance . But I am glad she pulled through.

Her dad sent me a text yesterday thanking me for my support; however, I want to thank all of YOU for following her on behalf of him.

Interestingly enough, the Jamaican community in South Florida is supporting her strongly. It may have something to do with the fact that a local paper down there said she is a &quot;Jamaican-American.&quot; LOL

Yes, Melanie and the other timid looking white girl are the best amongst the girls. IF you notice, neither one of them used much of any props, if any at all. You had no choice but to focus on them and their voice.

As for the 5 million. I have a feeling that it will be split up between the categories because how can you pair a group against an individual singer? Also, Melanie is a &quot;throw back&quot; type singer echoing those days when a singer came on stage with 3 back up singers off to the left. She is not the next Rhianna or Beyonce with dancing and props. She is the next Jennifer Hudson or Whitney Houston type. So, she might not appeal to kids her own age so it would only be fair that the votes are split and same for the money.

Mutty it could also be that she is from S Florida and Caribbean We are country 1st yes but if our country not represented fully support caribbean
