not wid american black history. If they are going to go there, they have to talk about all black famous people who ever lived. </div></div>
i thought you wrote "black" history...
i did not know the term "black" is exclusive to only americans of african descent....
if they said african-american history then i see your point, but you said black history...
besides technically the caribbean is called also "the americas"...as in "latin america'...soth america, cemtral america...
we are in north america

dis sound like a yankee idea to me. dis is the exact reason why some of you jamaican/jamerican doan know the difference between kunta kinte and cudjo.
jamaica is not a state in the united states of america.
america doan care bout no odda country unless it can rape suppn from it.
It stated that if a child is born abroad of a Jamaican father, he or she can have Jamaican cizenship.
If the child is born abroad of a Jamaican mother and the father isn't Jamaican the childe can only have Jamaican citizenship if the mother and father weren't married.

This author has no problems with the term black, she is just distinguishing herself as a person of Caribbean ancestry.
I agree. When you act "different" African Americans want to bad mind you and bad chat you and chat yu food an yu accent an yu gramma. But as soon as you win an award dem waan claim yu.
So 12 pages of arguing over a simple reading and comprehension mistake.
And none of us are "African". She is right. We are of African descent.

You don't have to agree with someone on EVERYTHING. I agree with you about the Bible and the importance of avoiding random baggy dropping and out of wedlock pregnancies but on race we just don't see eye to eye.
I suppose you will accuse Peter Tosh and Burning Spear of spouting foreign ideas too.

Your reasoning is curious...
So if during "black history month" in the USA someone mentions Marcus Garvey, would you run come tell them he is off limits to them because he was born in Jamaica? What about J.A.Rogers? Methinks you may need to broaden your parochial views
Why not? One of my cousins married an African and raised her kids in Africa. It was so unusual at the time that it was even written up in the Gleaner way back. Another cousin bought land in Africa and retired there. They both still live there and seem to be doing alright.
This one is specially dedicated to you makabush. May you develop pride in your African heritage and come to terms with your Black identity.
