Actually, if I remember correctly, that law and the right to carry law went into effect right after the rash of killings of foreign tourists by thugs that were targeting rental cars. Anyway, why would tourists not come to Fl because of a law that's designed to help law abiding citizens not be victims? This law was implemented because of a criminal element that is prevalent in FL. What stops tourism is a criminal element that is not kept in check...and if you really think about it, crime is the reason that this kid is dead. If the neighborhood was not targeted by criminals to rob and steal, there would not be a need for a neighborhood watch, hence no need for a over zealous HISPANIC to confront a black person that he did recognize as a resident and kill him.

Crime is not the reason Trayvon Martin is dead. He is not dead because of an over-zealous hispanic male. Neither is he dead because of liberal gun laws.

Trayvon is dead because he was a young black male. And for no other reason.

Your statement was not racist but silly. What was the lesson that Trayvon's black parents could have taught him to prevent him from being killed that night that white parents could not? Not to walk too slowly, too fast or run through a residential neighborhood while wearing a hoodie? There is no justification for what happened here save that someone made a set of broad assumptions that turned out to be deadly wrong. Black parents are likely more sensitized to race issues but there are some things like what happened in this case that you just can't prepare someone for.

A 13-year-old boy who police say was doused with gasoline and lit on fire last week while walking home from school is recovering from first-degree burns to his face and head.

The boy was just two blocks from his home in Kansas City Tuesday when two teenagers began to follow him and then attacked him, his mother, Melissa [censored], said.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Police have described the suspects as black 16-year-olds, while the victim is white</span>.

&quot;We were told it's a hate crime,&quot; [censored] told KTLA.
