How can I when he defends ganja-smoking, men getting women who they are not married to pregnant and using the term "breed" as if he was talking about a Heffer. It's an impossible situation.

Reminds me of a certain a certain gentleman who was interested yet he smoked, drank like a fish and had an aversion to working with a woman as a partner to perform household chores. A wha' mi fe do wid dat? I told him it would be constant war each and every day so what would be the point.

Much asI love jah_yout's record colelction, a reconciliation is out of the question. He has a long list of complaints about me that he posted a while back too. None of them were valid

I view their announcement as I would someone sending an email to their "friends/fans" about a happy occasion.

As silly as I think the whole <span style="font-style: italic">social-network-attention-seeking-communities </span>are, I am convinced that the participants do believe that the people with whom they communicate on <span style="font-weight: bold">FaKeBook</span> are truly their "friends', hence, the huge announcement.

After the announcement, seeing the backlash and personal attacks, I can see why they would need to make a public comment. Our world has changed and what some may view as too public (older folks), others (younger folks) may see as just another day. Most of them have no concept of what sacred, private and/or confidentiality really mean.

What is the "need" to make a public comment? What has the interview done to fulfill the need? What did either of them say that was unknown or unexpected?

Dunno, they made the comment publicly, so obviously, they must have seen the <span style="font-weight: bold">need </span>to do it. I am sure they have found some comfort in addressing it in the manner that they did and as far as I am concerned, it was a personal decision that did not require the public's approval.

I can't speak for them, but again, I do not see the difference between these public figures sending such a joyful announcement on Twitter or Fakebook, and our private-figures sending a broadcast email.

I think certain Jamaicans purposefully fail to see the difference between polygamy and breeding gyal and taking no ownership. A polygamist actually has to still raise his family....is still legally bound to them...is not an absentee father...and actually got married! We were never arguing monogamy vs polygamy. We were arguing married vs. non-married.

And yes, there was a need to announce it. It's the same reason hollywood skets throw out naked pictures online. The same reason certain socialites have sex videos. It's called publicity.

Funny you should ask.

I’d have to know the circumstances to call something bull, because there’s often a reasonable explanation for something that appears off. (And as everyone knows who has been to a traditional, all-hoops-jumped-through wedding of two people who turned out to be terrible together, there can be a whole lot that’s off about something that appears sound.)

To give an example of something I’d call reasonable, take a statistic that I dug up a while back for a column. A couple of sources put the rate of premarital sex among American adults at 85 to 95 percent. So, darn near everybody. And since birth control (and self-control) can be imperfect, sometimes unready couples conceive. And sometimes these couples decide that despite their unreadiness as a couple, they like each other enough and want children enough to want no part of abortion or placing their child for adoption. So, they step forward gingerly into the business of being a family.

That’s just one example of a cart-before-horse couple who I wouldn’t call a “huge load of bull” or banish from Christmas — but, then, I can only Christmas for myself.</span>

My point is - the interview solves nothing and does nothing.

The haters will continue to hate - the supporters will continue to support.

No matter if peeps are old school or new school - young or old - there's always something to be said for holding your cards to your vest.

I'm not speaking to announcing the pregnancy via Facebook - I'm talking just about the interview. It just feeds the fire - more fodder for people to keep playing, always online, always archived somewhere, always out there, more flotsam and jetsam for people to critique ...

When the baby arrives and its not dark enuff or light enuff, hope they dont have to give an interview defending that. Oh my!
