So in less than 2 week, the new "Sweet Thing" in my life gets to meet Mom for the first time. My sisters have warned the white girl that Mom is none like she has ever encountered before.

Last night's conversation between Mom and I went like this: "wen yuh bring har dung yah, leff har wid mih fi a while....mi wih straighten har out"...........

???????????[censored]??????

Mom, you've never met her, much less spoken to her, what the heck kinda straightening out does she need!!!????

I'm thinking I'm going to hide out in Negril with "Sweet Thing" and not venture near Spanish Town and Mom.

Pray for us!! The next posting of "the Mom encounter" will be interesting for sure!!

why do you worry about what your mom means by straightening her out? It may mean she is letting her know as a future wife to her son what standard you have been raised and what is expected of her no?

Uhhhmmm... I wish I could see it from your point of view KIA. The older Mom has gotten, the nuttier she has become. If my sisters are warning &quot;Sweet Thing&quot; to watch out...I should be worried.

I love that your mother is concerned about your life in the future; but remember, when you make a future for yourself and your wife/wifey, it is to your wife that you owe allegience, not to your mother. It is your mate that will face the future with you and your childrem. You MUST have a personel talk with your mom as a man, and let her know that your love for your woman does not threaten your love for her, but that she needs to respect your manhood and trust that all the things that she has taught you, has taught you to select a woman who will be just the person she knows will have your back. This is the type of woman all of us mothers of young men hope for our sons.

You get no sympathy from me. I have made it clear to my son that no White girl will be welcome. Period! He knows where I stand and that the day he takes up with some White girl he can pay for his own school fees, clothes and groceries. I have to work too bloody hard and put up with too much garbage to earn a living for him to end up with some White girl.

I think Black mothers should let the boys fend for themselves. Take vacations, go for facials, buy the latest fashions and newest model cars.

Why sacrifice, work hard and spend money to see the fruits of one's labour go to some White girl? I just don't get it.

Interesting I was just informed by someone who will remain nameless that you were already married to ONE white girl and it didn't work. Yet you going tek up wid another one. Reminds me of the way Canadian guys gwan about blondes.
