I would not send her... I had a very best friend who was born in Jamaica decades ago...
He tells this story of his father responding to a plea from his grandmother to send their three children and pregnant wife to Jamaica so she could get to know her daughter in law.. she was European....What happened next was a case of neglect, verbal abuse ending with a child running out int o the morass and being grabbed by a crocodile on the day that the woman gave birth..the grand mother of the child simply sucked ar teeth and the imortal comment " cho im wi cum back whgen im get hungry!" ..But that is an exceptional case...

Between me and his dad and his grandparents (grandmother now that grandfather has died), all Black, we are taking care of the bulk of his expenses while he is at university. I drive a 1998 car and my wardrobe could use updating. I would love to go for spa treatments and afternoon tea on a regular basis. I also miss my ballet and symphony subscriptions.
Who do you think paid to send him to private school, summer camp, and for sports all his life. If he wants that, let him work full time, go to school part time and pay his own rent and tuition and let him pay for his own books, clothes, hockey, soccer, and let's not forget gym membership. He had better not disrespect me by taking up with some White women.
Trust me if more Black mothers took a stand like this we wouldn't have so many guys running off with White women once they were able to earn their keep. Mothers of other races tell their sons not to date Black women. We are the only ones who preach equal opportunity dating when the playing field is far from level.

Good question. I guess it defines HIM fi true. He has arrived. He has had to create at least 3 threads in different areas of the board to show this off. Highly insensitive on a board with tons of black women and many of them single or divorced.

....but I would love to meet your son.
It would be a night of bacchanal......starting off ,,,,with some hameless Porn flicks.....
Then a Pub crawl, ending the night at an all-white Stripper dive.

But Tropi who say the single or divorced want him? no offense STGC . I am simply stating that it'a not a big deal to me who dates who. I am not the kind of woman to skin up my face if I see a black man wid a white woman because he is never the kind of man I would want to be with anyway. And I have dated my fair share of white men too and I've found that its just not my cup of tea. If we could all stop focusing on everyone else's happiness and find our own the world would be a much more pleasant place. But then again it takes all kinds of ppl to make the world go around

Skelly, I clearly have very strong opinions about this and they aren't going to change any time soon.
Tuff Gong, he is fully equipped with all the requisite life skills, more than a lot of young people. He was in residence for 2 years and he has had an apartment that he has shared with roommates since them. I started teaching him to cook when he was 10. He has been doing his own laundry and ironing since 11. He can handle grocery shopping and all of the yardwork. When he visited last week, he got the yard in tip top shape so you' tan deh.

I am not the kind of woman to skin up my face if I see a black man wid a white woman because he is never the kind of man I would want to be with anyway. And I have dated my fair share of white men too and I've found that its just not my cup of tea. If we could all stop focusing on everyone else's happiness and find our own the world would be a much more pleasant place. But then again it takes all kinds of ppl to make the world go around
