Ask her Witchy. Don't accuse her, ask her. Give her the chance to put them back. You're good with words, form your words in such a way that she doesn't feel defensive. And after you've given her that 'out', make it so that she can come back to your house and use your bathroom...

just so that she can put the items back. That's if she took em...

Maybe they fell over? Rolled under furniture etc?

Yup. And I checked everywhere in that bathroom! I even checked the garbage can... because gf kept rambling on about demanding to take a polygraph and how she can pass any polygraph test. She even went to the Orange police station to demand a polygraph. (they don't have one - lol) She wasn't named in my burglary report, because I didn't see her take anything. It's a straight-up burglary report - not robbery, just burglary.

Of course, they called me after they threw her out of there. they suggested that her behavior regarding demanding a polygraph test makes them believe that she didn't get the chance to remove my jewelry from my house yet... and they told me to turn everything upside-down and look for it.

I've turned everything I can upside-down and inside-out before lunch (before I posted here this afternoon). I can't physically do any more. I alerted the Newark pawnshops along Broad St; I know a few of the shop owners and they passed the word. Soon I'm gonna try to run out and over more stuff in the house here...

But if she hid it in the kitchen... I'm doomed. It's all in disarray, we were gonna finish tomorrow (Friday).

My ring was stolen a few years back too and I got a better one...now I don't even wear it so dem can come teef it again for all I care

I know your pain and anger, Witchy... now the feeling.

Last year my home was burglarized and they took a cache of jewelry.. my diamond wedding band and engagement ring, a topaz ring, amethyst ring all the way from North Africa, the most beautiful jewelry set my husband bought for me in Ecuador... various silver jewelry. They took a fortune and to this day, none are recovered. After the ordeal of the break-in, the theft and worse coming close to be violated in my own bed.... the theft was minor.

OMG! Mr Witchy came home from work and he found my jewelry!

It was hidden in an old soup in the kitchen that can we use to hold sand. (He uses the sand - heats it up over the gas burner on the stove - when he cuts pen quills from bird feathers.) My rings and cross and chain were wrapped up in toilet paper from my upstairs bathroom, half-buried in the sand! I guess she was going to take them out of here tomorrow... I'm <span style="font-weight: bold">very upset</span> that I lost a friend today. A 20-yr friendship - ended. :-( *crying again*

I don't even feel much joy. Just anger... sadness... and severe depression.
I lost a 20-yr friendship today. I lost a friend! I can't stop crying. I can'd handle this much stress; I just can't. I really wish I was dead.

But..... do either of us care, any more, now?

He's so upset he's unable to speak. His blood pressure is killing-high. We're considering a trip to the ER - only his health care benefits for this year are already used up...

I'm so upset that I's just as soon pull out one of our pistols, load it, and pull the trigger, than put the rings back on my finger or the cross back around my neck. What's stopping me, you might ask? Mr Witchy's upstairs, and it'd kill him too, if I killed myself now. I can't do that to him; I just can't.

Is anything worth living like this? NO!!
And I still can't quit crying. I've been crying all day. My eyes are almost swollen shut from crying.

Witchy, do take it easy!

You will get your friend back, if she cherishes the 20 year of friendship as much as you do. I can feel the stress you are going through but please don't make this rattle your nerves anymore than it already has.

How about inviting your friend over for tea, dinner... just to talk. If she knows you well, she would understand how distraught you were over not finding your rings at the time. I could tell it is not so much the rings but the sentimental values that comes with it. All is not lost.... But please take it easy on yourself.
