Oh I see mixxed race man with 2 x's...well why you nevah jus' seh so.

So I guess according to him a high percentage of Black people aren't Black Sounds no different from the official Jamaican party line to me. I used to argue with makabush about this same topic. Surprised that Blakkgiant has drunk the Jamaican Koolaid.

ppl have the accents they want to have...some Jamaicans never loose their accents, no matter where they live, some ppl work in the tourist industry here and have american accents on the job! all twang up only the job though!!

I don't think that most people have control over their accents. I know some can learn to do it. I have tried to master a Jamaican accent and I am still trying. I hit certain phrases and words but not all. If I mimic someone with a deep or really unique voice it works.

i used to work with a guy who left jamaia when he was 3 lived in UK for 20 years then moved to NYC for 8 years then to canda..he still droped his H's like crazy

I don't think that most people have control over their accents. I know some can learn to do it. </div></div>
accents like speech and language are learned, cant tell the amount of jamaicans who have both american and jamaican accents; bahamians too like the ones who I mentioned as examples, who work in the tourist industry..other nationalities can do it too of course; many U.S. news readers take speech and voice lessons to get rid of a 'rustic' accent

Some people are lucky and they just have a natural ability to easily pick up accents. Others have to work at it or get coaching. Sidney Poitier really worked at it.

well in the cas eof both Obama and Alicia Keys it would benefit their career to have spent some time working on their accents

I know Giancarlo Esposito got tired of being harassed by both Italian and Black kids. He was and is fluent in Italian too...some of the Italian kids who were picking on him couldn't even speak much Italian and he let them know it too.

Guess the French accent appeals to the ladies so I don't think dawgasaurus Tony Parker is going to lose the French accent any time soon. He slips into an American accent briefly sometimes though.

I used to love watching Yannick Noah and it was adorable when he used to come out for interviews with his short locks and cute little French accent. Sorry can't find an interview with him in English from those days.

Yannick Noah? Found it...interesting..Father is Black (French), grandfather was African, Mother is a Swedish Model. Where was he raised? He definitely sounds African American.
