So you are using the language of Africans slaves that they used in referening to white slave owners to refer to white people today? And how does that make a positve impression? When I was in JA, the words Fiyah Bun pon u bombo used to cause fights weda you yankee, dreadie, or chinaman. Any normal discussion anywhere, soon got heated because the recipient of the fiya also returned fire too. Sometimes it came to blows. So you call fiya bun fun, but doesn't 'disrespect' apply to to those words fiya bun also? If not, why not?

Xavier welcomed feedback. Linskinny is the one who suggested war room for the name of this section.

Some boards I'm on have a 'war room' where just about anything goes. Some even have a password where a member has to specifically request access. That way the member knows where they are going. I recall one section called the Colosseum. It didn't even show up in the forum listing unless the member was registered, and was granted access. Any whiners were simply asked if they wanted to have their access removed. It was no different than buying a house at the end of an airport runway, then complaining about the noise of the planes.

I weidhed in and so did Vannie. It's a bit unfair that those who said nothing are now upset that Xavier has gone with War Room. I agree with you. I don't like the name either but people should have spoken up before and even now, you should be making constructive suggestions, not just complaning and finding fault. BTW here was my reaction to the War Room suggestion.

Okay since Xavier is looking for more feedback, I have some more feedback.

Seems like the "tourist crowd" is objecting to the discussion of racial issues. It is as if they want to treat Jamaica and this board as their personal playground to laugh and have fun without having to concern themselves with the very real issues that Jamaicans at home and abroad face.

Jamaica is more than a beach it's a country. Jamaicans aren't just there and here to be your personal playmates. We have real lives and face real struggles so it is really quite ... man don't even know the word.... appalling.... that some seem to want to enjoy the country without giving a jot about its residents at home or citizens abroad and the very real challenges we face.

Also, some of the nasty content and photos the tourist crowd used to post about who they picked up on the beach and who they rooksed was just plain disgusting. If they want to treat Jamaica as their sex tourism paradise, I know I don't want to read about who they rooksed and I will lick out whenevah I see that kind of filth. (There are others who will too.) If that makes me judgemental and narrow minded.....so be it.

I suspect you are back to having 2 boards Xavier.

No the race topics should stay exactly where they are. They are relevant to Jamaicans at home and abroad. Mek de tourists who want to chat bout who dem rooks have dem own private yawd with a warning.
