November the 11th is a sad day in Black History. Nat Turner was hanged, beheaded, skinned, then chopped up. Body parts scattered and no burial.
His crime? Plotting a revolt to free his people from the cruel hands of slavery.
While history books might vilify Turner for the 60 white men women and children that were killed by him and his army of black soldiers, lets not forget the hundreds of innocent enslaved blacks that were slaughtered in retaliation, and the millions who had been killed before Turners revolt...and he ones still being killed everyday to this day!
What if Turner had been successful?
Why are there no monuments in his honor?
Dr King was wrong-we can never be free by appealing to the oppressor. The civil rights era led us like sheep to the slaughter, today we are hanging ourselves.
We no longer have pride as a people. We no longer emphasize the importance of family. We make a conscious decision to have sex and kids with no good men and no good women. Then we wonder why we are stuck struggling and raising our children-further killing off ourselves.
We mock education and focus instead on illusions of imaginary future sports careers, highly improbable rap careers, or immediate but equally dismissal ideas of swinging drugs, poppin bottles, making it rain disrespecting each other and ... hanging ourselves. Don't look at the photo enraged at the injustice done by the White nation to these men...look at yourselves and ask what have you done to bring justice to their story...and restore the Black nation.

World War II Veteran Honoured At Poppy Day Ceremony

PORT ANTONIO, Portland:SPORTING A broad smile and looking as happy as a lark, Patsville Hendricks, who served in World War II, was honoured on Sunday during a Poppy Day ceremony to honour those who fought gallantly in the war.
The 86-year-old World War II veteran, who spoke with Rural Xpress, said he is a proud Portlander who served in the British army from 1944 to 1947.
"It was an honour to serve in the British army," said Hendricks.
He added: "And, yes, there were many challenges as the British soldiers looked at us as the scourge of the earth, and they didn't like our colour. Nevertheless, we proved to be their equal and were perhaps even better at what they did best. There were fears among us, but the training that we received helped a lot, and it was probably because of that why I'm still alive today. We lost men, colleagues, and friends, which was expected, but thank God I am still alive and well."
Hendricks is the only surviving member of his battalion, which fought gallantly in several countries in Europe, including France and Germany. He also went to Saudi Arabia for a brief period, where he discovered a totally different culture and style of religious worship.
The veteran recounted that when he first left Jamaica in 1944, he went straight into training in Yorkshire and went on to serve in parts of the British Isle. He added that his enlistment in the British army did not come easily as many British nationals protested their inclusion, which was further compounded by racial comments and other forms of discrimination.
"Today, I hold no grudge or ill feeling towards anyone. When I returned to Jamaica in 1947, the reception was overwhelming, and that was probably my proudest moment. I am healthy and can still hobble around without any real pain, with the exception of a little arthritis. At first, I was a bit reluctant about accepting today's (Sunday) honour and recognition, however, I thought better, and hence, I am present. Hats off to those who have passed on, and I will continue to enjoy the land of my birth."

inferiority complex & hypnosis...serving the mother country and the enslaver country...would have been more of an honor to demand independence as price of shedding blood for them...rather than fighting to beg them to "please view me as a man"

If it was not for people like this man back then who set out to prove, yes we are as good and even better than the enslavers, we would not be as far as we are with racial rights today. The elders set the stage and we have stood on their shoulders and gained opportunities globally that they did not even dream possibleIf you don't fight for what you deserve, you deserve what you get.
