no. quite right. she doesn't have to go. the question she asked was "Should I go?" she's avowed that neither she, nor her child is jamaican. why on earth would jamaican mores apply to her? if she wants to go and express her non-jamaican feelings for the detested mother in law, why shouldn't she?
