Me noh know 'bout taking african out of my hair, I just want my hair looking good without much fuss.
The salons I hear about so far are run by Jamaicans and Africans, no Dominicans.

In large US metropolitan areas where there are a lot of blacks & latinos, the dominicans are known for giving inexpensive and long lasting perms.. Them will make u hair straight & shiny - tekking de african out u hair

I pay $70 in NY for my hair- to relax, color and cut

Hmm... I ain't paid dem prices in JA since the early 90's is which part oonu go JA and get hair done for dat? My mother say is $3000JA she pays which is bout $50US.

I would opt for natural, I guess it doesn't have to be locs (my preference) but natural seems much easier to manage.

Locs for me sometimes is overwhelming because, I don't have anyone to tighten my hair to the scalp (which is the way I prefer it) anymore. Therefore, I have to do it myself, I probably have over 300 locs, very small ones and it is a killer on the arms. Other than the tigtening it is just wash and go for me.

Ok I get the full scoop from my mother she say is $2700 dem charge har, but she say it includes color, deep conditioner and clipping the ends.

If I was around someone that could do it for me I would tighten about every 3 months. It depends on how fast your hair grows and how close you want the locs to your scalp. However, since I have to do it myself, I usually tighten it about twice a year. I normally do little touch ups around my edges, every couple of months.

The most I ever paid for a perm in JA was $1000 and that was just last year...I get mine done in Ochi.
