Well it was 2 guys from India, the minute I approached him to ask me if he could sell me a bulb he caught an attitude telling me he couldn't touch my car cause it was closing time. When I bought my first car I made friends with a couple of mechanics, they took the time to show me different things about oil, brake fluid, power steering fluids ect.

Thanks for your response Neutral. I asked the gentleman if he was the type of guy who sits home and waits for his wife to get home to make supper even when she's working late and he actually went into women's and men's jobs; cooking dinner being a woman's job. I was in shock because trust me if he was my husband, he would go to bed without food and I'm not kidding.

Marriage is a partnership and both people must work together to support each other in every area of their lives. Unfortunately in today's society the woman works outside of the house as well. In some cases, women are earning more than their husband. So tell me why a man would sit home while his wife is at work and not prepare a meal?

I just don't get it.

Neutral you claim cutting the lawn as your duty and that's OK but I would imagine that if you were ill (God forbid) or working really long hours that your wife would not think twice about mowing the lawn. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I do everything myself around my house... I may ask for a man friend's help or my brother if something is too heavy... otherwise, I can manage just fine

<font color="blue">Must be nice to have that kind of time. *sigh* *jealous* My kids are already here and I never yet stayed home. Well, except for my last year of school, but that was because I had to to an internship and classes and I had worked the first two years and I knew it woulda kiled me the third year and... well anyway.

Much of what I say in this regard, I have to use the future tense, so who knows what it will actually be like. I don't do all of the cleaning now, though, so I know I won't when there's one more person in the household. That math just wouldn't add up for me. The way the household is now, the brats do many of the chores, dishes, bathroom, garbage and laundry. </font>

To be honest with you Compry I do enjoy mowing the lawn and pottering around in my garden,if I was unable to do it my daughter would,it`s simply not something my wife loves doing and I appreciate that,there are areas of our lives I hate doing which she does,I hate the paperwork side of things for example,paying bills,keeping up with all utility and household bills,she does that very effectively.

I also enjoy cooking,whereas she doesnt,so most of the time I do the cooking,overall though I would say the workload is very even around our house.

I guess if you had kids things would change,it`s hard to maintain that level of equality around the house when kids are in the mix,certain roles would soon become defined over time.

You live alone...that's expected. Same here. Funny enough when I asked the gentleman, who lives alone, who cooks his meals now he said he did, etc.

So if a chore does not a gender label when you (general) live alone, why label it when you're with a partner?

I know that's right one of my employer's quit her job because of stress. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] She thought it would be a piece of cake to stay home with the kids. I got another job and she didn't stay home for long, kids were giving her too much stress. Lord both mom and dad snap at the least little things you wouldn't even think about scolding them. But when they are out right rude then the parents start with all these excuses for them.
