i don't think you can point to other numbers as great as in africa over such a long period of time

and yes i feel more sensitive to africans committing genocide - with the our rich history

i see where you're coming from. the truth is, though, that others have been at it for as long as and as bad as africans, including europeans themselves. we're just not as familiar with their historical atrocities. consider indians (meaning people living in india) who have been murdering each other for thousands of years, and who also have a rich history.

i've long ago stopped buying into the european-fed view that africans are the most barbaric people.

if we had been "barbaric" then slavery might not have existed and we're still not fighting back - and deem our diaspora as the reason - i'm not buying into that because the people that never left are in just as much trouble - if not more

and the dynamics r the same...the resources that the first world needs, a r the basis for them playing one set of people against the other, thereby creating the turmoil...and the artificial borders created bak in the first intervention [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] make the tribal fighting all that much easier

The latter statement is mased on the misunderstanding that slavery was not just as present in Africa as it was in the diaspora?
Any agfrican who stated that ethey were never slaves,don't know their hsitory.
Even Ethiopia ghot a touch of it from the itilians.

Doc everyone who has read the evolution of African societies across the continent, knows or should know that slavery was a part of the society...slavery running the gamut from benign (if u can use dat word in conjunction wid the act of restricting someone's freedom) to the no so benign....however,slavery as practised in the new world was a totally new spin in many a way
