It sadden me any time I see someone so young leave this place we call earth.
I have not been on the board that much lately , but in the beging I always came across ackee girls name .
Death is a very sad and painful thing to have to deal with , but by looking at all the post, which are many.
Marcia will be missed.

I'm more of a lurker, reading with interest the stories and revelations that are mirror images of my own life experiences.
I had a single interaction with Marcia (informational)under my previous alias DIMPLES. She was cordial and extremely helpful. I had come to view her as a role model of sorts... she handled her business with dignity and was very professional... more than I could have managed dealing with the variety of personalities encountered in this forum. I often whispered "This woman is a saint."

This community has lost a true gem. My prayers are with her family.

To all of you I want to ask that you tell someone TODAY that you love them. Don't wait for a friend to die to send them flowers. Do it TODAY because tomorrow is promised to none.

I have not visited the boards in a long time. I have had may a fun evening and couple of daytimes playing on the boards. I was getting pretty addicted and had to self-medicate myself by not spending so much time here.

I was just reading my JA news e-mail from the w/e 07/12/2003. I received this shocking ( ) news right at the beginning and I read ALL the posts in this topic. I was shocked to see a message broadcasting that I (my name is also Marcia) had passed away!!! Once I got over THAT temporary shock, the real shock of what has happened began to sink in.

In all the postings I have read from Marcia I never picked up on the fact that she was sick. She always handled her responsibilities with tact, style, good judgement, humour, etc. I have read some long posts that she had to compile when har JA.com pickinny dem was not behaving demself and she had to discipline dem wid words.

I can bearly compose this response as the I read what others in the JA.com family have written. There is so much I want to say... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I never met her in person but strangely I felt like I knew her. Unfortunately, my trips to Toronto did not coincide with the many bashments and other meetings that were taking place up there but it was always fun to read about them in reports especially when they mentioned places in Toronto and area that I was familiar with. Tropicana, your post of the "Candle in the Wind" sound clip was stirring....

I remember a time last year when Marcia posted that she wanted to leave (or she had left and was not coming back). There was such an outpouring of grief, weeping and knashing of teeth that she eventually decided to stick with it (albeit in a somewhat different role). It is possible that her health was deteriorating at that time and the struggle of keeping the boards in order may have proved to be too much...She may have been feeling that having to deal with the day-to-day responsibilities of this board would have been too much to juggle with her health problems. Needless to say that some of us have at one time or another have proven to be more than a handful. I have to commend the way that she suffered in silence and did not let the pain she felt come out in the words she posted here.

I've probably rambled on for far too long but it has helped me deal with the shock.

I am all for the motion of retiring her board names so that our memories of HER can truly be of HER!!!

I never met this lady but she epitomized all that is great about JA and the the site.

The community of Jamaicans.com have sadly lost a dear friend, but one that will last in the memories of true fun loving people.

Although I never met Marcia in person, we interacted a few times on the board. She came accross as someone with a special energy.

After I read the news my heart just stopped and I am at a lost for words. I haven't been on the site for a while and to come to back to hear news like this is very heartbreaking. (((Marcia you will be surely missed)))

I remember when I first joined, she sent me a welcome note. I thought that was very sweet. Death is sad and although I don't know her as some of you do...My heart goes out to her family and friends.....
