Was there any point in your life where God called you to do something that you never could have imagined yourself been able to do?

What was it? How did you know it was God's will?

BTW, although the pic isn't very clear, I love the whole bare chest thing you had going on back then, do you have any recent bare chest pics?

The assumption is wrong but I see what you are getting at. To answer your question, if it was not a committed relationship I could not take issue with her having "special men" in her life. There are a couple of females who have added immesurably richness to my life with their friendships and these are very special people to me. There may be a male friend or two who have added richness to their lives, and that is OK. In the context of friendships, it really doesn't matter and I would see no reason to think any differently of them than I do now.

This was a very difficult question for me to ask you but I had to.

Fair enough. I used the word "special" knowing fully well that some people were going to read far more into it than what was intended. Personally, when someone takes the time to get to know me, laugh with me, cry with me, see me at my best and when I am most vulnerable, pray with and for me as well as encourage me from time to time, and who holds me accountable, those people are special. I trust them, can talk to them about anything, and most importantly, when I need a female perspective on some problems I am asked my opinion on, without betraying anyone's confidence, I can check with them for that perspective. They help to keep me grounded. I am blessed to have a very small circle of godly, christian friends who are like that, and I thank God for them everyday.

Practising abstinence is challenging but as any committed Christian will tell you, doing otherwise is simply not worth it. The key is to avoid situations that tend to be provocative and to hold each other accountable. Like with everything else, the battle is won or lost in the mind so it is important to try one's best to keep some thoughts at bay. When the battle gets really tough - as it sometimes does - a "Lord, help me" or a couple of them becomes very necessary [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] .

Good question and seeing divorce is not an option, this could get tricky. If during friendship/courtship I realize there are sexual hang-ups, then the relationship is not viable as it would not be fair to her. In marriage, the idea would be that we are giving the best of each other to each other, and that includes the intimate parts of our lives. If for whatever reason we run into problems there, we would have to find a way to work them through, but a mediocre and routine sex life is *not* an option.. Absolutely.

What was it?

Getting involved in men's ministries.

How did you know it was God's will?

It was not something that in a hundred years I would consciously think of doing. I cannot get into the reasons why, but suffice it to say being in the same room with a group of men was extremely uncomfortable - if not literally impossible - and I would have much rather died first. To be able to do it today and minister the way that God allows is a testimony of God's grace, and an indication of exactly where He wanted me placed. There is no doubt in my mind about that.

Actually, I did something similar some years ago. I was going to my car and saw a man slap a lady that was sitting in his car with him, a couple of times. i took his plate number, and reported it to the police. They did say they would visit him but if the lady refused to press charges, there was nothing they could do. I told them that I just wanted to do what I thought was right, and they could take care of the rest. Your question reminded me of that incident.
