She (the child) has the sense the recognize the figure of authority (the police) and she was calm in their proesence..
so that lets me to know that *she knows* who fe mess with and who not too..
It also tells me that her cognitive abilities are in tact

Oh really, well yuhnevah deal wid some manipulative psych patients who know fi behave in front a police. Di child clearly has a problem, the question becomes why was she allowed to return to school.guessing that no treatment was rendered..after her first episode of disruptive behaviour, disruptive enough to summon the police.

If she was someone else I am sure that she would be afforded the services of good counsellors..

What is the world coming tuh, or hs gone tuh dat a kindergarten-er is put into handcuffs.. Laawd wi need help on and off disyah boad..

Also it is not easy to just 'drop in' at school. At many schools parents are not permitted into the classroom unless it is parent/teacher night or special occasion

The law states that parents have the right to pop into the school any hour on the hour to visit their child.
Each school (by law) has an open door policy..
Its just that most parents dont know this, and the school doesnt broadcast it..

My child's school tried to pull tricks likka this,(bout u cant do this, and u can do that...and u have to mek appointment [img]/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img] ) and I wouldnt allow it..
Now, they dont even try it, especially since I told the principal that I am fully aware of all the education laws [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] so save me the mombo jumbo..

Not so Sevens, I know the behavior. My sister was one of these children they put on medication fe diss an dat.
And i membah a time when she could not sit still becah a de medication. You'd make har sitdown and boom she had to get out of the chair.

No I have never dealt with psychotic patients, but I have dealt with disruptive children.. Have one that I deal with on an everyday basis and a noh mine.. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]
yes, I do admit that the child has a problem, cant argue there..and thats why I said the principal musse *young*, cus an experienced one would have gotten help thru the available channels long long time agoo before it escalate to this ya level with handcuffs.....

do not think this is a Black/White issue in the least. Sometimes our prejudices cloud our ability to reason. If this child was another race, would we be having this discussion? Now think about it, who is prejudice? The offender or the seasoned offended?
