You have made vaild points during this thread but to me there is 2 sides to the coin.. your side and the other side which his hers. Both points are well-founded in their own right and none IMHO is more valid than the other.

agree evanovich....

blu and dajah made some judgements about angelina jolie.. it went forward with blus statement about a culture being responsible for its own....

we tend to overanalyze others intent..

my intent was to dialogue... one given perspective.. not "the truest" perspective...

we were talking about too many children without homes and opportunities...

why is it not fair to say... that having lots of children.. versus just one or two.. would add to the level of ones poverty.. and inability to to make a better life for themself...... and NO im not talking middle class life..

nothing wrong living on the land with few resources if your happy.. and you can feed, clothe and shelter your kids..

this was in response to blu... blu maybe you should come forward and tell me what you meant by providing for your own....

BND, you have a good point.

I have a friend who gre up in some far country bush in Jamaica. She was adopted into a Canadian family when she was almost 20. And at that age, she could barely read, write, or do math.

She went to school here and graduated from high school at age 24.

When I asked her about her situation, she told me that she didn't have the money and the opportunity to fulfil her education. And that her father was abusive and many times he had to stay home and look after the home.

yes her statement, in the instance...however, others seem to want her personality to be called into play as if this is not 'something' 'she'the nice person would say...subtleties.....an no one is asking for either to be given a stamp of approval...a discussion affords their being differing viewpoints...

however, I for one am tired of the underlying tenet of poor put upon non black poster, being accosted for having the temerity to make a statement outside what she should have....the statement is being questioned for the void in its substance....at least by me...and i will continue in that vein with all statements that i find questionable...if the poster is not alligned with my thinking or fails to see how i read it, then that is to be understood, hence the discussion it merited...

wat i do find hard to resist is the snide remarks and pot shots that r taken all under the presumptions they have made about ur reason for embarking on the questioning in the first place...

Yes and essentially it said Jamaicans were ungrateful to complain because the Government provided Highways for them.
If that was sum total of your understanding of what is taking place in Jamaica then I have say you cannot have no overstanding of what is going on in Jamaica.
