Just heard on Power that the Jamaican, Mr. Lindsey's father has offered to talk with the police in Jamaica. He came forward in view of all the publicity. Mr. Shields will be at the talk and is to report to Scotland Yard.

Jamaican bomber, 19, was to be father again

THE Piccadilly Line suicide bomber, Jermaine Lindsay, was revealed yesterday as the second teenager in the terrorist cell.

Lindsay, who was born in Waterford, Jamaica, was 19 and the father of a one-year-old son. His wife, Samantha Lewthwaite, 21, with whom he lived in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, is eight months pregnant with their second child.

FBI sources said last night that Lindsay had emerged on their “intelligence radar” recently. His name is believed to have been raised in connection with a big anti-terrorist operation in Britain last year but he was not questioned.

The sources denied previous reports that Lindsay had been monitored when he visited relatives in the United States four years ago. “This guy never got on our radar screen until very recently,” an official said.

Before his death Lindsay had been living what appeared to be a normal life with his wife and their baby son, Abdullah Shaheed Ibn-Jamal.

In the weeks before embarking on his mission, Lindsay had become a frequent visitor to the Body Flex gym. To regulars there he appeared to be an innocent newcomer, keen to improve his physique.

Where and when he turned from a peaceful father and husband into a suicide bomber has baffled the small Muslim community. One source said yesterday that Lindsay had once been a follower of Abdullah el-Faisal, a Jamaican Islamist preacher in prison in Britain for inciting his followers to kill non-Muslims.

Lindsay is understood to have come to Britain from Jamaica as a young boy and lived in Huddersfield with his mother, Mary, and his sister in a 1950s terraced house. He is said to have converted to Islam in his mid-teens. He worked as a carpet-fitter before moving south.

Ms Lewthwaite, who was born in Northern Ireland when her father was serving in the British Army, was drawn to Lindsay partly because of her longstanding interest in Islam. A former school friend said that Ms Lewthwaite had been fascinated by Islam since the age of ten when she lived among Asian neighbours on a housing estate.

She converted to Islam when she was 17, taking the name Sherafiyah, before she met Lindsay, who used the Islamic name Jamal. The couple held a wedding ceremony but Samantha’s mother, Christine, is said to have refused to attend.

Police are searching the couple’s home and other addresses in Aylesbury.

Thank you my cute and cuddly centipede. I will review the article and the link that you posted. All I can say is that I have been to Singapore MANY times. While I can't say that I saw every inch of it, it is not a big place and I saw a LOT of it. I didn't see even ONE sign of poverty. If it is there, it is well hidden.

If you survey many University campuses in America you will see where "they" are "filled" with students from the countries that don't "respect" America..Ironic isn't it? Let's call a spade a spade.. Why the hell don't they stay home where life is sweet and hunky dory? Hypocrites!!

..by Reignman: All countries' leaders have their own agenda. The only difference is that some have been more successful than others. The singapore prime minister is in no position to speak on the subject, if you should ask the people who live under his dictatorship or his neighbours in southeast asia, like Indonesia and Malaysia....the people he treats like 3rd class rejects.

I agree with Reignman, many of these leaders DO have agendas, including that of SELLING OUT THEIR OWN PEOPLE; establishing friendships with dictators etc, and when the going gets ruff they declare war in the name of the people who didn't even know the hell what was going on from the start...Reignman has a point.

It is interesting to see the viewpoints expressed here, many hearts are still full and screaming for some sort of "justice." I have no problem with that; however if we are to survive as a "race," as a "people" we have to look beyond our own prejudices and start seeing things in the broader context.

Some of these comments reek of intolerance, a major part of the problems in the world today. [it is demonstrated right here on this message board on a daily basis] Most of feel that we are ALWAYS right and the other party always wrong; failing to understand the fragility of human nature and how the human race is contributing to it's own demise. If anyone dares oppose our POV that person automatically becomes the enemy, in many cases worthy of death...no ifs ands or buts..correct me if I am wrong.

I might be playing "devil's advocate" here, but this is how I feel right now.

Everyone is entitled to his or her OWN opinions, but if we are going to harp on the same old story of who did what to whom as I mentioned before there would be no room to accomodate the list of atrocities. No group, no ethnicity is innocent, no not one; and again, I am not minimizing the atrocities that occur currently on a global scale..WE need to listen, and we need to TALK, communicate honestly and fairly, and learn from each other without prejudice, showing tolerance and not intolerance and ignorance...and oh yes, that is a very hard call, but it can be done.

We don't have to agree on everything, that is what makes each and everyone of us unique, but we must be willing to exercise the art of compromise and RESPECT. We, as a race of people, ie the human race for starters need to start trying to understanding each other if not plainly and simply we will all be extinct.

Strangely, many ethnicities are commiting atrociteis on their own..They do not need any "outsider" to do it for them..the murders in Africa based on tribal divisions, based on religion; and specifically what is going on in the Sudan as we speak; the vibrant slave trade in Africa, the divisions in Korea, the fighting in Russia based on age-old conflicts, the deep-seated rivaly between the "French" and the "British," the enmity between Indians both in India and Pakistan, ethnic and political divisions in Turkey, Mafio-so against Maf-ioso, with their blood letting when they are ready; to name a few; and the list goes on and on..ohh lest I forget, the murders in Jamaica, black on black crime; what is happening in Haiti, the first emancipated colony in the West..

If ethnicities cannot live together as "one" then how in hell are they going to live peacefully with others? Who's zooming err fooling who here? I'm not even going to bother mentioning the intra religious conflicts, fundamentalists against SDA's, Mus-lims against Mus-lims[refer to Iraq/Saudia Arabia et al]. Each group is it's own enemy for starters. Now: What is it with us Jamaicans that make us so wicked?

This is a generalisation, no? There are psychopaths in every group, every nation. One does not have to blow up trains, and innocent ppl alone, to be classified as wicked. HYPOCRITES are wicked people too yuh noh; including those at the UN!! Wicked ppl in the seats of government are wicked as well, yuh noh. Atrocities come in many shapes and forms; but many times we fail to see it, period!!

The point I am trying to make is, each and everyone can offer a reason to JUSTIFY their feelings about the global dillemma, but there is NO justification for ambushing and murdering innocent people, in whatever shape or form that might take....U R at liberty to interpret that any way you choose.

..and please be careful how you call the name A..h, dat won't sit right with some ppl who might be reading this board.

Thank you Tropicana for that link above re the Jamaican. I tend to agree with your views from that other thread that the boy was left to "flounder" etc; IMO seemingly lacking a true father figure in a asociety where the deck was stacked against him from the start.

Maybe he even had misplaced anger against the father but thrown on the society and the world at large.

Now he has a son, and another child is on the way..


They keep saying that they were not intended "suicide" bombers, in other words, implying that they died by accident...oh the irony!!...anyhow, I am beginning to wonder if suicide bombers deep down in their hearts of hearts feel that they have nothing to lose, so let's take a few other souls with us..

Yeah I saw 40 Legz's post and responded that I would look it over and start a new thread. I have not seen any evidence of this type of thing.
