I would never want to convert anyone, sometimes I like to inspire questions in people but honestly I think people should believe what brings them the most peace of mind. If it doesn't agree with your reason than you should not embrace it. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Everyone in one way or another is a believer.

While I debate them from a position of a christian, I respect their positions and honesty. And Rebel believe me God does too. He does not agree with you, but at least you are honest in admitting your non-belief. He considers you cold. That is not an insult.

We all know 'no credit' is niether good nor bad, but when it counts, it might just as well be bad credit, cause you are going nowhere without it.

So is 'cold' to God. Cold is like 'no spiritual credit yet' hot is like "good spiritual credit" luke warm is 'mash up credit' you once had spiritual credit.

I have been rebuked by Jedi for taking a position with MG which she thought was not becoming a christian testimony. There will be times of disagreements even between christians on some topics but the basics are there, we stand for telling the word like it is and my preference is to be hot for christ.

Now there are two ways the world views christians, one way is the nice guy, a friend of the world, he compromises on the fundamentals, homosexuality is OK, so is abortion, so is gambling, a little of everything no excesses and you are OK. God however says.... "come out from among them and be ye separate".

Non christians say ...too heavenly for earthly good..., Jesus says ....men of whom this world was not worthy....

In fact the churches that are on fire for Christ are growing faster and have a more meaningful change in the lives of their members, by and large, than those that take the armchair approach to christianity.

It's that seeming agreement to Rebel comment "sad isn't it" and your unbiblical simile about "a meteorite destroying it all..." that caught my notice.

A christian cannot, I repeat cannot, agree with or sympathise with that comment.

That is anti-foundational to the christian message.

Well the "thing" is accepted there are so many words. For example, Christians LOVE to heap scorn on homosexuals, and people who perform or seek out abortions, however, Jesus had NOTHING to say about either of those persecuted groups. But he did say something directly about adultery. Want to hear it again? Why it is right here in

"But I say unto you that everyone who divorces his wife, except on the grounds of unchastity, makes her an adulteress; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."

Do you think the Christian god has changed his mind on this (little) point, these Biblical "words," and now really hates abortions and gays, but figures, "Well, times have changed," or something, about divorce? But Gods extended warranty called 'Mercy' still abounds, so like all other evils they are tolerated and supressed by the power of the Holy Spirit in the world living in the hearts of believers. Recall what Jesus says about the wheat and the tares, they grow togather untill the separation at Harvestime.

Plus things have changed since Dueteronomy, we don't live in a theocracy anymore.

Yes, totally different. The word 'christian' was originally used as an insult/jeer by the Romans for Yeshua's followers, especially immediately after His death. I just find it silly to name myself after an insult. I prefer Beleiver, because I believe in God and his word.

which ones please? I only remember saying something to Sukuna once, and I'm not really sure if it would have qualified? Perhaps it was a typo, and you intended to say Rebel? Often times I tend to agree with points that she makes from her atheist standpoint, yes, but then sometimes she agrees with something I will say from a Biblical standpoint, we have been talking on here together for a long time, and we both know where the other is coming from for the most part.
