I joined Rasta as he pulled a breadfruit off the fire....cut it open, and offered a freshly roasted slice on a banana leaf!! another first....!! we don't see too many breadfruits (roasted or otherwise!) in NY!!!

Dave, your name suits you well (Diamond). That picture of you and the Rasta is priceless. I would blow that thing up and keep it on my desk at work to remind me that life should be simple and your acutal needs are much less than we think.

Your lady is fortunate that you find joy in getting off the beaten path. She is able to experience a slice of Jamaica that some ladies would love to but do not have the safe hands of a husband or lover to walk with them. It appears that you have found the Jamaica that you love and I am happy for you. Life is good isn't it [img]/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

I'm so glad you are enjoying his trip report. I am enjoying it too and I experienced it right along side him.

It was an incredible experience. One that I would never ever have done without David. I have experienced many different things since I met him. This one goes at the top.

I think Negril will be our next destination.
Now we just have to wait for the right airfare. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

David's band had a gig last nite so we are exhausted...But stay tuned...more is yet to come...

Angie.....precisely!!! I learned a valuable lesson while there....the foto of me and Rasta is a great reminder...but the full impact of the lesson (actual needs vs. perceived needs) didn't strike me 'til a little later in our journey.....that story also involves a farmer... [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] ....yes...I did find the Jamaica that I love....the Jamaica that taught me that life is, indeed, good...as for Karen...I felt fortunate to have her along...the look in her eyes as she experienced the island was priceless!!! Jelly's are best ice cold... it's usually my first purchase on the island. I also love drinking the milk out of the fully ripen coconut, I guess you could say I'm nuts for coconuts. Hopefully he made you a spoon to scoop the jelly out with. These are the things I miss the most when I'm home. The hubby will ask what I want to eat, when we're going out - I always reply an ice cold jelly and fresh coconut milk - I keep telling him all we have to do is get on 'de plane'. He doesn't ask that much anymore - he must of got tired of the same reply, maybe next time I'll say 'a fried dumpling'.

The sun moved slowly, but inexhaustibly, across the midafternoon sky....we still had a long road before our bed welcomed us, so we reluctantly said our good-bye's, and made our way back to the path through the woods....

As if he hadn't done enough, Trevor suggested one more stop before we headed back east......so we made our way down out of the hills back into MoBay...so that we could see the view from the Richmond Hill Hotel
