You are comparing apples and oranges. I cannot speak for anyone else as it relates to where they choose to go. What I may deem wrong for me may be totally acceptable to another person, and vice versa. I do enjoy classical music and along with my Bob Marleys and Beres Hammonds, have numerous CDs among my collection, but I sumbit that the culture of classical music is a lot different than it is for reggae. I am not going to listen to a guy singing lyrics that I deem questionable, or using language that I find unacceptable. Just my personal choice.

Of course, but once they do I regard them as vexations of spirit and simply choose to ignore them as much as is possible. There is no point getting into it with them, as like the fool they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with their experience.

Well neither would I but not all reggae concerts feature artists with questionable lyrics. You spoke of lifestyle. That's why I brought up the classical music question. (I am a lover and student of classical music myself). I am not trying to change your point of view, just to understand it. (I only try to change people's point of view about racial issues and dating. Mr. CEW, you've invited your SI (Special Interest) over for dinner. What's on the menu? Is dinner by candlelight in the dining room or in the kitchen? Is she expected to help with the preparation of the meal? If she offers to clean up after the meal, would you allow her?

Possibly a combination of both our favorite dishes and some chicken wings (Sorry, those have to be there!) [img]/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img] . Sure, why not? Two sets of hands will make cleaning up much faster leaving us with enough time to watch a movie, play pool, or do whatever else we may want to do that is appropriate.

I have been in this situation numerous times. I feel a sense of disappointment regarding ignorance of the scriptures by some preachers and membership. In such situations, I say a prayer that the "message" is short so we can all go home, and ask God to reveal the truth of His Word to that preacher/teacher.

Yes I would, providing she allows me to be a part of the process towards her healing/recovery. The rape would have been a tragic incident in her life but in my opinion, it does not and should not define who she is as a person.

For a couple of reasons, I would take the assignment. My pastor is my spiritual leader, and it could be that this is a period of preparation that I am not aware of. Also, I cannot disrespect the man of God so I would have to submit to his authority.

4. What is your understanding of the Songs of Solomon?

This a a very wonderful book - a series of poems if you will - that chronicles the author's love and passion for his bride. The fact that it is a part of the Bible signals God's idea of the romance that should exist between a man and his wife. It reaffirms for me that marriage with the right person is to be enjoyed in every which way, and not something to be endured.

Are you asking me to think like a woman? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] IMO, seeing they tend to be the more emotional of the genders, the top five would probably be:

Affection
Honesty and Openness
Family Commitment
Financial Support
Sexual Fulfilment

I do think however that some of the ones I listed would be on par in terms of priority. I also think it is difficult to separate affection and admiration.

6. As a child, what is your fondest memory of a summer holiday?

I spent most if not all of my childhood summers reading books borrowed from the library and writing a lot of pen pals I had at the time, so that is pretty much all the memories of my summers then.

7. Which of the following are you more likely to participate in?

d. Waterskiing

Scuba Diving. I have never done it but from what I have seen, coral reefs fascinates me. I also love the seeming tranquility of the underwater experience.

The most obvious would be my unwavering faith in God, but on the secular side it would be the fact they can accomplish and become whatever they set their hearts and minds to do/be.

9. Apart from your mother, please tell us which person from your formative years influenced the person you are today? What was the influence?

There are two older ladies - friends of my Mom's - that are spiritual mothers to me and whose influence lives on in my life today. The first taught me that life is like a wheel and as long as it keeps turning and you do not give up, it is just a matter of time before you end up on your feet; a lesson I have proven over and over and have shared with others. The second was always there for me when I needed someone to talk to, and I was able to overcome a lot of childhood anxieties and periods of being misunderstood because of her counsel. I LOVE them both.

10. How important is a name? Do you think it is necessary for a name to be researched before the parents confer it upon a child?

From a personal point of view, I am not overly concerned about the meaning of names at all. As long as the child is brought to the Lord's house and prayed over (christened), and as long as the name isn't something silly, I am fine. I can appreciate however that there may be some people who consider names and their meanings significant.

11. Why would you recommend Adoption over Artificial Insemination?

AI provokes a lot of personal emotions and represents moral and ethical issues that can have a very negative effect on a couple and their marriage. I think a lot of childless couples would find adoption a more viable and embracable alternative as the issues involved are for the most part, far less personal.

12. If you were going to be locked away in one room of your house for 24 hours and allowed to take one item with you, which room would it be and what would you take?

In my bedroom and with my Bible. I could read, sleep, and watch TV/videos. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif[/img]

Being blind as there are no alternatives. To be either deaf or dumb leaves the option of sign language.
