That's a wide spread of events and places, wow I'm impressed for such a short period of time. You did very well
I am assuming you drove yourself to all of these places, so you must be a pro at driving in Ja by now.

By day 2 in at Kanopi House I had my own driver who took me around and then when I hooked up with some friends they took over the driving
It was better than having them yank on the steering wheel when I was about to hit a pothole 
The second week my brother was there so I tossed the keys to him

To me driving in Jamaica is NOT relaxing, unless you know the road well, unknown potholes are killers. But every time you do it, it becomes a little easier. With that said I love being a passenger, tho it's a rare occasion.

<span style="font-weight: bold">Little bit of reflection on my trip so far:</span>
Going solo to a part of the island I have never been to was truly a goo thing for me in a lot of ways. I am more of an introvert if I am left to my natural tendencies but this trip kept me engaged with the world around me at all times.
When I was at JaJewel's I was happier to sit and talk with JaJewel for the day instead of staying upstairs reading a book by myself...This would be my normal reaction to being on vacation by myself but this time I didnt feel to.
And at Kanopi House, the other girls that were there were funny and engaging as well. It was nice to have ppl ask me to come with them on day trips and hang out.
I enjoyed my time with new people...chatting one on one and getting to know some interesting ppl. Some ppl you just naturally click with and others you dont. I operate by instinct on this matter and was surprised that I got some really good vibes from so many different ppl...normally the world doesnt work like so.
I really had a host of ppl looking out for me at every turn this trip. I never felt alone on this trip because someone was always willing to engage with me. Not in a get what they can from you sense, but just to be kind for the sake of kindness.
I had a little of my faith in humanity restored on this trip.....as long as I dont factor in the actions of the police, this trip was restoring in mnay ways.
Travelling mercies come in all different forms

Nylah goes to Jamaica. How much fun is this report.
It is funny that over the years on Jam.com so many Jamaicans have come in to share their reports and not simply cast asperions at non-Jamaicans' trip report. (((Marilyn))
But, this is fun -- if for no other reason, Nylah, than your complete honesty. I totally understand the driving thing, although when I lived in Ja, I became quite the happy albeit crazy driver. Except after dark. I have horrible night vision. I refused to call them PAT holes, I called them PATRICIA holes.Comment

Puter issues here.
Consider yourself lucky that you went to Port A after the road was "fixed". My time there over 12 years ago was a nightmare. But, I still loved every minute - no matter how much my innards were rearranged.
I love both places you have showed us. JaJewel, I think I need to come stay with you and Mister Mister. From what Nylah says, it sounds like a slice of heaven. And, I could use that right now.
And, Kanopi -- I am off to Google that. Sounds something just perfect for me and a good rest.Comment

One of the best things about Jamaica is that, if you are an upright honest person, you will always have Jamaicans out there to "protect" you. They are incredibly honorable people.Comment

yup, no truer words spoken
Again, this fact is part of the "forest thru the trees" aspect of my trip...if you follow me
I have a story about an intense conversation I had with a Rasta in Buff Bay while waiting for my car/driver to come.....when u connect honestly with ppl you can feel the difference. Plus u learn quick when it isnt honest as well...

both places are good for a weary soul in my books
My friends kept telling me the same thing about the roads as well
but there still are some spots that were brutal The one leading to Kanopi House is the kind that will rearrange your innards as well But they are working on improving it as well. If I had a 4x4 it surely would not have been as bad. The problem is I am used to driving a 4x4 so I handled the little sentra like one and paid dearly for it on a few occasions

This is all so wonderful! I am elated to share your journey. I've always wanted to visit with Jajewel and now it seems the Kanopi is the logical next step. I would be so at home there!
