Gonna skip over a few days because most of it is on video and I havent received them from egghead yet.

So, a little preamble: Friday I finally caught up with MrsKurie's brother <span style="font-weight: bold">C </span>and his friend <span style="font-weight: bold">G</span>.

We hung out Friday, Saturday and Sunday - pretty much until I needed to pick up my brother (egghead) at the MoBay airport.

Skipping to Sunday for the moment...G is a professional football/soccer player. This Sunday he was playing in the &quot;corner&quot; league in Buff Bay.

None of us got up before 11am. This is probably the longest I have slept since being in JA...due to Saturday night activites
B shows up to drive me again about the place.
I kinda want to hang out with C and G on my own so I tell him that I want to drive myself today I pay him for what he has done so far. He doesnt look too happy but says alright. He isnsts on checking up on me though throughout the day.

I call C and G and they say to meet themi in town.
B insists that he drives me into town to meet them. I sigh and say okay.
We catch G walking up the hill to meet me. He gets in and we drop of B at home in Boundbrook.

I start to drive off but true my popsicle was dripping all over me and the road were ruff I stop and let G get in to drive.

We then head out to Drapers to pickup C and off to the soccoer game we go.





Since C is now driving I can snap some pictures along the way We leave out from Drapers and head towards Buff Bay.

We make it to the football field in Buff Bay. Games have been played already before G has to go on the field.









Previous game done and G takes the field. His is the last game for the day to determine who plays the semifinals on Wednesay

This little guy stole my heart He is bloody cute Little man wondered away from mom who was caught up in the game. I just kept my eye on him until she noticed he wasnt at her side. He was fighting with the juice box for the longest while before I started filming him. He couldnt get the juice out so he would dip his straw in and out, getting one drop at a time Towards the end he started sucking on the straw and got more of what he wanted He started walking away again so I stopped the camera to catch him but mom came running thru the crowd frantically looking for him at the same time. She was cussing and hugging him in relief at the same time. Meanwhile, he just concentrated on getting the juice out of the boxone drop at a time

It looks like I deleted my favorite one by accident. One team scored a goal and of course the crowd goes wild like only they can in JA

I was getting a little bored so C drove me up into the hills to check out the scenary. The roads were too bumpy for me to take pictures
Then the fuel light came on. C said we had to shut off the A/C if we are gonna make it back to town. I said oh hell no I will die if we do that since the day was hot!
So as G continues to play, we head to St Margret’s Bay to find gas. C asks a few ppl along the way and they all point to a house up a hill. I am wondering how a Texaco station could be located in such a spot. Alright, so there are a few things I still need to learn about JA The spot was a garage that sells gas from barrels that was bought from gas stations in town….of course you pay a premium but it gives you enough to make your way back to a major town to fill up properly. So me and C and filling the car up one bleach bottle at a time
By time we got back the game was in over time and G was on the sideline from injury. His knee was swelling up bad bad but the man wouldn’t keep himself quite.

Head back to Boston Bay for some food and hit the same jerk stand Little David’s for jerk chicken and festival and coconut water.
FYI: the best Festival to be had is at Little David’s :Jamaica:

We hang out at the Boston Centre for a while and just take in the day together.

As we are leaving, David of Little David’stells me that if he was married to me he would take good good care of me so mi need to think pon dat real good before I go. I laughed and said I’d keep it inn mind.

We head off to Sherwood Forest to p/u C’s kids. They pile in the car and within minutes are fast asleep in the back


B had called me earlier again to check up on me and I said I was heading into town at the moment. He asked for some food from Boston, so I brought him his supper.
C and G drop me off at the guesthouse and we make plans for them to pick me up at midnight to go out for the night.

By day 2 in at Kanopi House I had my own driver who took me around and then when I hooked up with some friends they took over the driving It was better than having them yank on the steering wheel when I was about to hit a pothole

The second week my brother was there so I tossed the keys to him </div></div>

To me driving in Jamaica is NOT relaxing, unless you know the road well, unknown potholes are killers. But every time you do it, it becomes a little easier. With that said I love being a passenger, tho it's a rare occasion.

agreed. YOu have to stay alert at all times to dodge things...potholes, goats, people.......

I think that is why I was so tense by time I got to Portie. Plus I was staining to see in the dark. I still had my contacts in when I should have had on my glasses so that I could see better at night.

I was okay with the process as long as I wasnt driving thru the heart of town at rush hour. But if I wanted to play tourist in a new area for a change, then driving and taking things in werent compatible. So I was grateful for the offers from others to drive.

The main driver I had wouldnt name a price. He just said for me to pay what I felt to pay him at the end b/c he just wanted to be sure I was safe and had a nice time. You cant beat that at all.

How do you decide such a thing??? Have heard similar things often, but really don't know what to base it on ,or how to decide w/out insult--

I loved the little boy with the ponytail, but the best part for me was hearing the voices.

This is a hard shot to get, as it is a tricky road and not made for stopping and snapping pictures, but LOVELY shot Nylah

it's so funny...the first video actually drove out the main road in Drapers...1 minute 45 seconds and maybe it would take another 5 minutes to drive out the hills.

amazing how much the street have changed. When I grew up there is was all dirt and gravel road now it's paved.

Well I cheated. I called a friend in the States and asked her what she thought and then ran it pass my friends I was with in Portie A. They agreed with the amount too so that is what I gave himn He seemed alright with it becuase he continued to talk to me for the remainder of my time there

Yes that road is a tricky road for sure I took about 10 pix over time before I got a decent shot finally. But that involved stopping in the middle of the road and then taking the shot

the background &quot;noise&quot; is so part of the ambience it was a nice relazing Sunday in JA. Lots of people out with their children taking in the game. Really really nice time.
