Thanks Guys!
I did manage to enjoy myself in spite of feeling like death warmed over. The wedding anniversary party was so fantastic. That alone was worth the visit. There was more than 200 people in attendance and I got to see family I have never seen before! That was wonderful. My aunt and uncle are really great people and that party was a reflection of why it is important to live good with people.
I saw the sun maybe 3 days...and one of those days is was only for half a day
At least in Alberta we have constant sunshine regardless of how cold it is outside. I will take the cold over no sun anytime, any place. I cant take the dreariness for too long. Screws with your head.
Best time to go ROOTS & Ms Exced, I would say is summer...May to August. I have been there in September and it starts to get miserable by then - at least for me it does.
Plus you can visit the many gardens all over the place My cousin's wife is an avid gardener and she was asking me to come back in the summer so she can show me Kent properly - since it is referred as the Garden of England. I may take her up on her offer
Crappy part is that the sunless sky makes it hard for picture taking. A lot of what I snapped simply was too dark to viewing.
Yea, summer is the best time for Europe (if it's a good one).
It can get up to 30*C here!!
Yea, the gardens are fantastic!
We are all waiting patiently for spring to burst forth! We already had a smidgeon 2 days ago, the sun was shining and I was on a cafe terrace in the park out of the wind
When the sun comes out everyone is smiling
Nylah, you should definately take her up on that offer. There are some beautiful gardens in Kent (all over England really), like Sissinghurst, Victoria Sackville West. (my mum is also an avid gardner).
If you are living outside the UK and planning a holiday here, why not make the most of your visit with the National Trust Touring Pass? This seven or 14 day pass gives you free entry to over 300 historic houses and gardens in England, Wales and Northern Ireland in one single ticket.
well, u have to at least post a picture of what you bought from Doris and Doris
Her sewing skills are good when u see the stitching and stuff up close you will be happy! Plus she is a really gentle spirit. I enjoyed chatting with her for a while after my purchase.
You are right, techincally it rarely gets too hot in the U.K. but you are coming from living in a warm spot in the U.S. and are used to the humidity. For me, any place that is humid feels extra hot to be since I am used to Arizona type dry heat.
Wetness in the air makes me feel extra hot and in the case of winter, extra cold hence why I got sick when I was there and hency why I hate Sept cause the weather is turning.
I am surprised Nanook hasnt commented on the orbs in these pictures I at first was gonna chalk it up to the rain but all my other pix, or most of them, I took while it was raining but no orbs appear

I love this picture. Sick as I was that day, I was the only one that got out of the car. I just stood there for a few minutes and took in the view and the ambience.

OHHHH AEWSOME ORBS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry for the late reply! I've been longing to get to this thread and read your report and visit pics I missed on fb, but been sooooo busy watchin Newton and Iditarod this week, I wanted to wait till I could really delve into your always fun commentary!
I thank you for bringing attention to the orbs, they are amazing. That huge one especially!!! The kind of weather that attracts them for real..
I'll be back soon to read the rest, but I gotta go check Newton for a bit!
Hey no problem! Newton is a good reason for being busy
at first I didnt even notice that the graveyard shots are the only one with orbs in it. It was wet and rainy just about every day I was there but no orbs anywhere else.
I really loved this spot. I was feverish that day and Mr Nylah didnt want me to get out of the car but I just had to.
The grounds were so peaceful and I was drawn in. I stood there for a few minutes feeling really still. I closed my eyes and then I took the pictures...and I had orbs Make of it what you will.....
This is s fun Nylah. I'm halfway through page 5 and am enjoying myself reading your commentary and looking at your glorious photos! I loved seeing and hearing about where you were named and visiting all the beautiful places. I'm kind of partial to the Brixton area and loved the video!
I'd travel with you any day, my kind of fun! Anyway, now that I've posted I have a bookmark to use for tomorrow morning coffee! Continuing this will be a perfect accompaniment.
I double dutied the orbs...very surreal! Makes ya wonder, don't?
Aww, thanks Nanook I wish I wasnt so sick cause there were so many other places I planned to visit in London and area, but I will have to save those for another summer trip
And I'd take you along with me anytime
The orbs things I think are cool. I am sure some pix may just be dust particles and stuff, but like I said, it is fascinating that the only place they appeared in the wet, rainy time I was there was in the graveyard.
I really liked Brixton market. Everyone was telling me not to bother cause there was nothing there but I am glad I ignored them. I loved it. Really great stalls and you'd have any easy time selling your jewelry there too Did you see my link to Veronique designs? She seemed to do very well there.
