Talking of that, this is how people transport their kids I used to do both, start on the front and after a certain age they go on the back. So glad I am over that!!
You know the Dutch are crazy about skating (sven kramer, olympic gold in Vancouver) here they are outside the only time this year it was possible. I do like it but not enough to get me my own skates....

Oh yea, seeing that poster of the dance in the Rabozaal, they had a big rebuilding combining Melkweg with the Stadschouwburg - City Theatre - and made a new room connecting the two, on the top, Rabozaal. Haven't been in there yet. Also revamped the boring downstairs foyer of the theatre into Stanislavski, cafe/bar/restaurant with a fabulous old world interior. Also the ticket office is on the right of it, for any and every ticket for theatre, shows, concerts, etc. and all info for stuff all over Holland (museums etc.).
My god, can't believe they don't even have an English link on it, but they have a nice panorama slide show of the interior (but not of the lovely round white leather sofa off to the side of it in a big room), so you can get an idea. Definately worth going to, even just for a coffee or spa water, can't comment on the food cos haven't eaten there. Probably good tho (if expensive?). Was in there once for a coffee just after opening to check it out and didn't see a menu to peek at.....(oh, handy, it's on the website...).
Stadschouwburg is the centre of the Leidseplein. Saw Nelson Mandela there on the balcony!!!
Talking of the market at the Roots Festival, that beer holder standing on the left djembe I bought there, it's made by South African women. It's beautiful, and water-proof from the inside...

Oh yes! There is even a Rijksmuseum (Rembrandt, etc.) dependance at the airport! So should you be doing a stopover at the airport on your way to Asia, say, you can pop in there and get your art fix

oh yea, talking of going to Asia, Emirates is starting from Schiphol from 1st May
