no it is not illegal to purchase assets in your child's name. Using their SSN # for credit purposes is entirely different. </div></div>

My mother and father did that to me - had properties in my name, didn't pay the taxes, all without me knowing, and then when it was my turn to buy a house I had to jump through hoops getting liens released, etc. They know the deal because they received notices from the IRS, state tax board, etc.

We don't talk much now...

What the man did was <span style="font-weight: bold">Fraud</span>. He used daughter social in order to be able to buy the house. I heard on the news that he did not qualify for the loan due to credit and such, so that is why he used daughters social.

Interst rate is based partly on your credit history. A 2 year old does not have credit history!
