But something I find strange about your response. When I was small people always gave me things because they found me nice as a child. I was told to bring it home and the parents would carry out their investigation. There are instances where old women give children things from their hearts.

About wrong ideas I dont think so. I have seen somebody in the family turned down 2 big houses offered by family members out of pride and it was well needed.

And as for strangers, we all take things from strangers. We take things as we see fit. We take jobs from strangers, etc.

And not that work hard argument. Work hard alone will get you no where. After all it is our hard work reputation that brought us out of Africa

Plenty of people work hard and even harder than Obama. Where are they? It is about identifying opportunities. My daughter did what she was raised to do but she did not see the opportunity that I did.

She will learn from it, probably about opportunities

Wait, so if a stranger offer you something of some worth and you analyze and see no harm to you in it, would you refused?
I did not see that she was being insulting and I do not have a personal principle of not taking things from white people.

What can be perceived as a kind act by some, might just be a show for a guilt-ridden one who felt the need to do Pennance<span style="font-weight: bold"> publicly</span>...when dealing with racists though [and I again don't know the lady's motives..for all you know, she might have a half black/white grandchild..] ].. but when dealing with them, they tend to see melanin and melanin only... </div></div>
I also leave the door open on that and I did give enough background information. We also do see in white terms.
I believe more it was the context that lead her to believing that we were needy.
It is the poorest county in the country. They belonged to Hungary previously, mind you these people are the most cooperative that I have had the privilege of dealing with.
The fact is there is a refugee home there and I believe that she thought that we belonged there and she looked Bohemian to me. Might also explain the funny behaviour with all them coins. lol Oh, and my daughter is light-skinned and mixed, which does not make a difference around here cause even Turks with a little dark complexion get what all Africans get. Her complexion would also not help because most of the refugees they send there are from the horn of Africa.

Context is everything. When I was doing my activist bit, I was offered a scholarship that I mentioned in the thread, it was meant for Africans. They were handing out three of them at the time and only 2 got claimed in the end. I didn't know about it, it was sent to me. They actually believed that I was African just because of the context. Should I have turned it down? No way, it was an opportunity. And if this mistake is being made at a state level, who am I to refuse? It was a good opportunity to education which led to further opportunities.

My partner was having problems finding work based on racism for the level of work he was looking for. So, as Obama did a run me tell e, see a black man time now, set up yuself, dem need black people fe push in front, fe say dem na racist - Germany same way. And now him have one extra offer he na know how fe accept no joke - and yu see times hard. Even I got into big companies because they wanted to prove to the mother American companies that they were not racist and followed the diversity policies.

I swear, if any white smaddi come to me wid anything based on racism it a ge go just like that Nigerian 419 song

I have thought on this Sukuna....look maybe its me, but I too tell my children not to take stuff from other people. (And I do drills with them. over and over again.)... Most people in the UK respect not aproaching a child directly.... But if an old lady in the village I live, looks at my children and smiles at them.. then asks me if they can give the child a sweet or a chocolate or a coin. I find it hard to tell them no. If thgey aproach the children directly without first lookijng at me for aproval then I will intervene and tell the person off.... I

I find it sad that we live this way... Suspision of others.... A disconnect between generation.

note I deliberately left out the issue of ethnicity and so called race..... <span style="font-weight: bold">Because thinking on it the lady in question it strikes me was wrong to give any child over 100 Euros.... </span>That is so wrong. And one would think in Austria with the case of that man with his daughter would have made the nation senstivie to child protection...


Giving the money directly to the parent may be distasteful.. because I am sure Sukuna could not be seen as a figure of need... Her child would be clean well dressed.... well looked after..

On hte other hand she may be paying the child for silence to stop laughing.. Did she say anything to you Suku?

We were not loud.

You cant take race and culture out of it. She did look me in the eye shortly before she did it. She also didnt say anything to the child. People assume once you are foreign looking(farther than Eastern Europe) that you do not speak German. And it could also be that she also hardly speaks the German language herself.

Yes; it is not a comfortable subject to discuss. It is clear that Sukuna, you and I do have <span style="font-weight: bold">some</span> almost similar experiences, which would explain why we tend to share somewhat similar opinions.
