I am not misquoting you. You said that in the Caribbean people learn about these things in secondary school. That was MY assumption also. Then we have people posting and it is clear that they don't even have an understanding of basic terms like house negro.<span style="font-weight: bold"> Some even asked what does that mean and these were Black folks NOT white focus.</span> If as you say they have been taught then why are they clueless? I don't want to embarrass anybody by posting their questions but I will if I have to.

Has nothing to do with agree or disagree. If people have learned and read, as you say, then in 2009 they wouldn't be asking stupid questions like &quot;what does 'house negro' mean? They would KNOW the answer to that very basic question that any 12 year old African American child could answer. They would also know the basic of the historical dynamics of race, class and economics in Jamaica. It is clear that some who claim to be Black, Jamaican and raised in Jamaica don't have a clue about ANY of this. I am well justified to ask what the heck is going on in the school system when people don't know these basics.

If people KNEW the basics they wouldn't have asked the questions and I wouldn't have started this thread. PERIOD! If you want to perceive that as rude and condescending TOUGH! Feel free.
