Actually it was the British who pushed for the State of Israel over the early objections of the USA.
As for brown since most Jews are Semitic the People of Palestine and the Jews are more related than say Jews and Europeans. </div></div> Where do you get this information? The British had absolutely no bargaining power after the war. It was the US that chartered the ship that took the Jewish refugees to Palestine and the ports were blockaded to prevent the ship from landing. It was only after people started dying on the vessel on the seas, with no other port to land that they were allowed to. And it was the US that funded armed ans supported them in their terrorist action against the British colonials.

The balfour declaration was done in 19 17 Just as thedec;larati9ons that was done after the eirst world war. They renegged of all including that regulation that is why the Jews could not be relocated to aywhere including Palestine and the USA during the war.
The declarationdid not state that theJews should make ir a zionist state. It sPecifically state that nothing should be done to harm or displace the non-jewish people of Palestine. So Good Doc, are you saying that the Balfour Declaration played no part in the eventual establishment of the State of Israel? </div></div>It did but was never r the intent if teh declaration. What it di d was tiotie the hands of the Brits so they had great difficulty in getting out. Countroes are famous to sign promises that they had no intemt of respecting. because they know that ther was no way to force then to later.
Well Britain did notforsee their werakieeing position as a result of the second war. remember this was during the teh eirst world war this was done.

It is similar to giving the Irish indedpendence, before thewar so that they won't ally with the Germans against them.
It is all poart opf what is called diplomacy. make lots of prpmises to the weak, knowing very well they you have no intent of honoring them and they have no power to force you to do so. this is so common in history it shoukldbe more readily recognized.

A lot of things played a part. the fact that the people were dying on the ship played a part, but woe can't sat it established Isreal any more than we can say Brirish was behind the establishment,of Isreal because it would be false.
