French Tickla, I don't know how long you are on this BB, but if you remember we had edit naah call noh name edit... who openly declared her sexuality. It was always a pleasure &quot;interfacing&quot; with her here because she was such a happy-go-lucky personality...[ppl even asked her personal questions, which I didn't like, but she handled herself well]...in sharp contrast to that odda guy...what is his name again?...He was not too courteous and tend to insult ppl who got tired of his very graphic comments....so I think ppl can declare their sexual preference widdout being ridiculed...the question becomes, who cares what ppl do?

I am no expert on this as the good doc,but in reply to your question I would say it may be because of how society perceive homosexuality,mothers do worry that their sons/daughters may not provide them with grand kids,fathers tend to take the macho view that the son is not a real man all this must be extra pressure and enough to send someone to seek help/counselling through guilt or the feeling that there is something wrong with them because they are not like other people. </div></div>

i concur. i did therapy too because the pervasive culture that i grew up in and what was ingrained in me said i was less than and more a mistake than anything else.

tell ur kid that everyday (or even imply it) and they either attempt suicide, rebel or seek healthy ways to build their self esteem. i chose therapy after a few years of failing to fit in the mold.

britisha, i don't know the ooman u speak of. i was around but missed that episode. i know of the guy though. gayactivist i think. u can tell that him was on the frontlines from the &quot;activist&quot; in him name.

I hear you, but thank God we have freedom of speech and we can express them here within board rules...although I must agree that one could be &quot;in for it&quot; for expressing some aspects of their lives.


Take the Christians for example, look at the ridicule that they endure, and for the most part they seem to just turn the other cheek, mebbie to impress the other boardies that they are true Christians; or they find those attitudes boring, tiresome and just plain stupid.


AS you say, many ppl have their own baggage, and what better way to offload them, than by joining the posse...there goes that word agen...to ostracise others for their religious beliefs or sexual preferences or simple opinions? [who di cap fit]

This topic has been hashed and rehashed ever since I joined this site; and they most times get closed because of the war that erupts in the discussion.


All mi know seh, when mi did liff a Kingston as a child, I saw them taunt 1 homosexual man who behaved very much like a woman...I was 9 at the time, they jeered him but never physically abused him. I think it was his flamboyant behaviour that irritated them more than anything else. When I got older I heard them speak of B-man and &quot;sodomites,&quot; the women.

Now there seem to be a new generation that believes in physical violence towards them...something that never used to happen. When did all this start? Our government should not tolerate this NOR any other type of physical violence period !!

Instead of making progress in a society, we have backpedaled and regressed in our human interaction..IMHO. <span style="font-weight: bold"> All I know is, nobody knows for sure what is really going with anyone, homosexuals included,</span> and when people are of a certain mind-set, it is not changed easily...BUT..it would behoove some of us to stop burning fire and/or stap chatting faawt bout stoning other people.

That type of behaviour is from the Dark Ages.

...lawd mi know mi a mash wholeheap a karn now...but annihilating one group of ppl is not the answer either.

It is one thing to hate another person's behaviour, it is a completely different matter to hate the person to the point of killing him or her. They should scrap that motto <span style="font-weight: bold">out of many one people</span> that is such a farce. It either is or it isn't.

Big up to Neutral for maintaining a rather realistic, uncompromising approach to the discussion..

I wonder sometimes, if people who talk about stoning some one to death have ever actually seen one. How anyone can think this is something I AM actually told people to do on his behalf, I dunno, it's just way out there man...nor can I comprehend any kind of biblical justification when everyone cherry picks their abominations as they see fit and we know the books were written by sheep herders trying to explain thunder and lightning. If God did not want there to be gay, he wouldn't have made it possible. So to say it is unnatural or what have you, doesn't make sense.
