The Bay Of Pigs Invasion was a clandestine action to dislodge a popular Government in a time of hostilities between the Cuba and the USA. It is unlikely that USA or any other country would have succeeded given the level of potential support that Castro would have received once the action became known publicly.

The Grenada Invasion was popular action supported by regional and International Governments as well as Grenadians.

The Panama action was basically a US Marshals effort backed by the military and supported by the many previous plotters and coup organizers against Noriega himself.

Can you provide a context in which Jamaica is invaded by the USA <span style="font-style: italic">(since you seem to be concentrating on the USA)</span>?

Jamaica was a British colony during the Bay of Pigs invasion, that's the point.

In the remote possibility that Jamaica is ever attacked/invaded by we know who - again, the remote possibility - I'm sure the JDF would summon its best efforts in defense of the homeland, contrary to what you think. Now, would that resistance amount to much given the size and capabilities of it's rival? I think not. But they would do their best.

It so funny when these posters make these claims they never seem to consider the context and the TimeLine it is all about the nonsense swirling around in their noggins.

A few years ago a Jamaican Lawyer's office was invaded and documents surrounding the defense of his client was wanted by the USA was removed. The then Jamaican Government aided and abetted this move. The so-called Fugitive Apprehension Team <span style="font-style: italic">(FAT)</span> regularly seize Jamaicans on behalf of the USA Marshals service, this is the only kind of operation that is analogous to any of the three incidents mentioned <span style="font-style: italic">(that is the favourite of the Conspiracy theorists)</span> and as you can see the GOJ willing allows this to take place.

In my opinion if we are so concerned with possibility of an invasion by outside forces we should immediately abolish the boutique JDF and require all Jamaican Citizens to undergo two years of military training and form Citizen Civil Defense Units in every contiguous neighbourhood.

how is it analogous when castro was the leader of cuba at the time of bay of pigs? that is like saying castro invited the americans in to kill him (their mission);

and we are NOT concerned about ANY POSSIBILITY of outside invasion- that is obvious; this might be a sensible thing right now- only time will tell;
apparently most of us believe we have nothing of value that anyone woould ever want to take forcibly...
others have thought so too and perished- some of them no longer around to tell the tale- our predecessors- the arawaks can tell all about that---
your idea of a citizen civil defense unit looks good at face value but i don't think j'cans are anywhere near this type of thinking right now inthe current climate of the country...

The country's politics is not static. We are niot lomiting our opinions on ththe static poklitics. It is all about preparing for all contingencies. We still have to protect the good of the cpuntry even if thse who are incrahge is not intreated in doing so.
