How do I become the next primeminister of Jamaica?

I want to form my own party, I want to be fair and take the country out of its corruption. I want to make JA more equal, so the rich pay more tax then the people with little income. I want satisfactory opportunities of education and advancement. I want to make Jamaica more like Sweden, but Jamaica is warmer so there I should stay every day of my life .

Mi waan take de getto ppl dem n give dem de same opportunities, education education so them could help themself...

So anyone know how I should start? I probably should start read about PNP and JLP and the history of politics in Jamaica. Anyone know how I should do that?

Sorry realgyal,
If you are interested in taxing the rich and helping the poor, the only place in Jamaica where you will find people willing to listen to that sort of thing is in church.

The two parties will not let any individual change the system.

It is no different than in the United States where the Democrat Party put up Barack Obama for it's presidential candidate.
On the surface it seemed like he represented change, him being what people thought was a liberal, black man.
The truth is IF Obama was really interested in change and the kind of things you are talking about, he would never have gotten nominated by his own party.

You are in a similar position except that you mean what you say about taxing the rich and helping the poor so you would never see your name on the ballot even if you ran for street sweeper.

You could start your own party and possibly get elected but who then would vote for any of your proposals? No members of the PNP or JLP would and third parties historically lack the support of much of the electorate or a nationwide body of elected officials to push through progressive legislation.

The people are effectively locked out of making decisions in the economic and electoral systems in Jamaica (and the United States).

I think it would be worthwhile to talk to someone you know to be a progressive person in government and pick their brains as to the possibilities of changing things. They have first hand knowledge and if they are honest with you I think you'll be quite discouraged from thinking about entering politrix and attempting to change things.

I dont want to see Jamaica like any where else expect Jamaica.. I dont want a pale imitation of imperfection.. Jamaica is Jamaica with its greatness and limitations...

Realistically to be prime minister you have to join one of the two poltical parties and climb the hirachy...

I see that the politics dont work in jamaica, because the hole country is in curruption and I see that honesty works, and many jamaicans are religious n I believe in God so I could be a Getto God people party wha u tink?

I love Jamaica and I dont want to change the country in that way. I just want to make it more fair and give everyone equal opportunities...

I want to form my own party and the fact that there only is two parties and its a challenge just encourage me.

Get in touch with the private sector association of Jamaica, or privileged and select of Jamaica.

The control all the means to select,promote, finance and most importantly remove politicians in Jamaica.

And Did I say they are in the exclusive position of legally Funding political parties secretly while benefiting from contracts as a result without Even a public mention.

They are Aldo responsible for the formulation of government policies.

Sweded is a high tax economy. The local funders through which you have to go will not as much as hear of it.

The one big problem with what you would like to do is that Jamaica is not Sweden.
Sweden is one of the more highly developed and socially advanced countries in the world .
It is a social welfare state. It has a lot of wealth and a big tax base with which to finance education, health care and all the other programs to help ordinary people.

Jamaica is poor and not highly developed.
It has no large tax base and cannot support social programs as is done in (rich) Sweden.

Sweden is a capitalist country but with its high taxation it can run the social programs that are elsewhere found only in socialist economies.


The only way you could make Jamaican society more fair to all is to have a socialist economy and that is not permitted by the people who own and run Jamaica.

Likewise were you to start a third party and have as its aims taxing the rich and helping the poor, the two major parties and the corporate media would poison the air for your chances and the corporate media and the State Department and entire government of the United States would also be against you. .

You would not have the financing nor the means of getting your message out to the voters.

The past is prologue. It's all been tried before and they know all the tricks in the book to stop you before you can get rolling.
