That was the same argument made when OJ was acquitted.. Its a fair argument but one that does make the verdict less ridiculous and inhumane!

the defense had the termerity to say wat it would prove...that was the first muddling and invoking of emotions

please note dat not even har defense team pretended to allude to another killer...tink on it..dem neva seh dat dem hope di prosecution goes forward relentlessly in seeking di real killer....u haffi read between di lines sometimes...dem was in shock...an wat up wid di defense lawyer n him talking in Spanish..thought English was the official language of the USA...

I was not following that closely but from what I heard no cause of death was established for the child, so that probably worked in the mother's favor. It is not enough to convict the mother on her odd behavior. The jurors were probably thinking that if you say the mother killed her - then we are obliged to ask how. And if we can't say how it happened then how do we know whether this is a first, second degree or manslaughter case. It could have been premeditated or the mother could have got in a fit of rage and did something stupid to the child or it could have been accidental. The evidence presented did not answer the question so the juror say it is not up to us to figure it out so we going with not guilty.
