when the majority of the youth of the 1960's to the 1980's who are the parents of young ppl today have been brainwashed in the school system then they grow up to be brainwashed parents who pass on brainwashed philosophies...

problem is that most parents are not aware that the education their children are getting is brainwashed education...

that is NOT what obama is talking about...he is the status quo;

blacks need schools specific to their experience and is the only way they will get true education...
obama & politicians will use the one-size-fits-all approach to education of black youth but it has clearly failed...

what is needed now is comminity-specific education....
it's not enough to blame the continued negative statistics of black youth on the parents...it is beyond that-- it is systematic;

the strong parents i am speaking of recognize that the school system is a sham and that black youth are completely miseducated and taught a compleely false history & comical philosophy and go about giving them some real information...
white parents don't have to worry about that so much...so it is unfair to expect every black parent to become an academic expert and relieve the gov't of any responsibility in creating this mess

i know--- i was in it...and escaping the brainwash was not about my parents alone...i can tell you that peer pressure is just as great as parental pressure
so obama is talking about the kind of parents who say "stay n school"...
i'm talking about the kinds of parents who say "stay in school and learn academic skills- reading writing & arithmetic, but temper lessons about history, economics & philosophy with outside research from unbiased sources...also home school wherever possible...

please don't mix up what i called strong parenting with political slogan calls for parenting...

i said guys like obama want to absolve the government of their role in creating & perpetuating this unequal, separate & inferior education system in america by shifting all responsibility to the community...

Progress didn’t come quickly. Sometimes I got so discouraged I thought about just giving up. But what kept me going was the belief that with enough determination and effort and persistence and perseverance, change is always possible; that we may not be able to help everybody, but if we help a few then that propels progress forward.

Now, this is what I had a chance to talk about when I met with some young men from Hyde Park Academy who were participating in this B.A.M. program. Where are the guys I talked to? But these guys are no different than me, and we had that conversation about what does it take to change. And the same thing that it takes for us individually to change, I said to them, well, that's what it takes for communities to change. That's what it takes for countries to change. It's not easy.

But it does require us, first of all, having a vision about where we want to be. It requires us recognizing that it will be hard work getting there. It requires us being able to overcome and persevere in the face of roadblocks and disappointments and failures. It requires us reflecting internally about who we are and what we believe in, and facing up to our own fears and insecurities, and admitting when we're wrong. And that same thing that we have to do in our individual lives that these guys talked about, that's what we have to do for our communities. And it will not be easy, but it can be done.

When Hadiya Pendleton and her classmates visited Washington three weeks ago, they spent time visiting the monuments -- including the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial just off the National Mall. And that memorial stands as a tribute to everything Dr. King achieved in his lifetime. But it also reminds us of how hard that work was and how many disappointments he experienced. He was here in Chicago fighting poverty, and just like a lot of us, there were times where he felt like he was losing hope. So in some ways, that memorial is a testament not to work that's completed, but it’s a testament to the work that remains unfinished.
His goal was to free us not only from the shackles of discrimination, but from the shadow of poverty that haunts too many of our communities, the self-destructive impulses, and the mindless violence that claims so many lives of so many innocent young people.

I agree with Jah_yout here. Man I didn't know you were so deep I really don't see where Obama is absolving the Government.

Men have to stopped being so obsessed with baggy and approach sexual relationships in a more responsible manner. That cuts across race but we are specifically speaking of Black men at the moment. I have plenty pon White men obsessed with blondes with big boobs and their trophy wives.

Sexuality needs to be approached in a much more responsible manner. When it isn't it is only the children will suffer. When the rich White men do this, the children may be provided for financially but they do suffer emotionally from the neglect. Black children are far more likely to live in poverty than children of any other race. Stop putting the pressure on fi ooman fi drop baggy. Select women based on character, marry them build a committed relationship where there will be more than enough rooksin for everyone and ensure that you provide for your kids.
