I don't think many tourists are interested in Jamaica other than vacation. I found this site after vacationing in Jamaica because I was interested in the history of the island and its people.

My first post was a question about why was there all this negative fuss about all-inclusive resorts on the site. It didn't make much sense to me, I had just stayed at one and thought it was wonderful place. The first response I received was equivalent to being smacked up side the head with a big ole stick by JohnnyCakes, and than while I was down I got kicked in the teeth by Calvin, and sternly lectured about the evils of capitalism.

Yep, the dynamic duo of communism tag teamed me and said hello. I thought to myself WOW! What a friendly place!
So, I decided to hang around.

But like communism, Cakes and Calvin slowly disappeared and like capitalism I'm barely holding on.

It's true that "judgemental, holier-than-thou, know-it-all attitudes" are not at all welcoming to new people. Neither are terms like "oyimbo", "yts", etc. Even blacks (at least in the U.S.) often don't want to see that shyte. (I know my personal friends and neighbors who are black don't.)
